Mrs. Bachelor Bob is back in the Fusion business. Rebecca Budig will reclaim the role of All My Children's Greenlee starting January 16. (What do you think about it? Vote here.) Also, Daytime Emmy winners Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams are returning as Angie and Jesse Hubbard on Jan. 18 and 25, respectively — this despite the fact that Jesse famously died in his wife's arms a bazillion years ago and has since made several ethereal visits as a ghost.

"We are giving the fans what they’ve been asking for — Rebecca returns as Greenlee and a beloved super-couple have a second chance," says ABC Daytime boss Brian Scott Frons. "Fans can look forward to Greenlee’s storyline developing around her business, her friendships and her love life. Angie and Jesse made an eternal imprint on... viewers, and many fans will not believe he's alive." Seriously — his ghost even gave Pine Valley that "magic box" one Christmas!

When Budig returns to the role she created, Greens is suddenly stricken down by a mysterious illness. That brings Angie back to Pine Valley Hospital to consult on Greenlee's case as well as that of a "secret patient." It all leads to what ABC calls "the most shocking reunion of all time: after 20 years, Angie will reunite with Jesse."

What's your take? Do you welcome Budig with open arms, or was Sabine Singh sufficing as the recast? And just how do you think they will bring back Jesse?! — Matt Webb Mitovich

I loathed Rebecca's Greenlee when she was on AMC. I found her character to be a spoiled brat that tried to get whatever she wanted no matter the cost. When they brought the character back, I was annoyed, and I originally hated Sabine's Greenlee because at least I was familiar with Rebecca's. But after a few weeks she began to grow on me, and now I find myself loving Greenlee, which is something I never thought I would do. I thinking bring Rebecca back at this point is a mistake, and plastering the TV with ads that she's the "real" Greenless is so tacky. Frons and co. have really dropped the ball lately on all of their soaps. People are upset over the easy redemption of Greenlee at the expense of Kendell and Zack (which is being done so Greenlee will be in a good/happy place with all the other characters loving her when Rebecca takes over the role), but I think the writers went wrong when they had Greenlee kidnap Spike and get into a car crash which led to the Spike's deafness. They should have just had her get into an accident, sans the kidnapping, but I suppose that wouldn't have been enough drama for them. Anyway, back to the point, Sabine did an excellent job with what she was given and her chemistry with the other actors is great. I'll be sad to see her go. Having Rebecca back will only lead to me remembering all the reasons I originally hated Greenlee Smythe.

Im glad the real Greenlee is coming back. She is perfect for that part and it hasnt been the same without her. The new Greenlee is too nice. Even when she's trying to be mean.
Now for Angie and Jesse, I was 6 years old when Jesse died and I can remember it like it was yesterday. I think that they will bring him back by saying he was in witness protection and didn't want to put his wife and baby in danger. Or, he lost his memory. Or, maybe they'll do what they did on OLTL with Michael McBain and Al.

I am very happy that Rebecca Budig is indeed returning, however, I really don't like the way they handled it with Sabine. That was a bit nasty.
If they can bring back Jesse from the dead, please bring back Dixie so that she and Tad can FINALLY get their daughter back.

A Writer's Strike cannot possibly damage All My Children at this point. When Greenlee first came back to town, played by Sabine Singh, I too longed for the "old" Greenlee. Sabine proved, however, that when writers gave her dialogue and situations that weren't beyond ridiculous, she was more than up to the challenge. Viewers like me were blaming the messenger rather than the writers. By the time the writing for Greenlee's character developed to the point that she appeared human, rather than a villainous cartoon, the groundswell for the "real Greenlee" had overwhelmed all sense of reason. Rebecca Budig was a terrific Greenlee and probably will be again - but, towards the end of her tenure in the role, when Sabine was finally given some decent dialogue and situations, she brought a sweetness and vulnerability to the role that Rebecca's take on her never had. It remains to be seen whether Rebecca's Greenlee will have the chemistry with Aiden's character that Sabine's Greenlee did and though I hope they will, I have my doubts. What's done is done and I won't debate whether Budig should have been brought back or not - but the way it was done, the shameful way Sabine has been treated, and the beyond insulting "Real Greenlee" campaign viewers have been treated to should make all those who participated run, not walk, to do penance.

Of course the Greenlee debacle was just one of many in the last little while. Bringing back Dixie was a painful experience. Though we were not led to believe she had endured amnesia, it would have been better if she had, because rather than being the lovable character fans had long adored, she came back as a horrible, selfish, loathsome creature that was not even a a shadow of her former self.

J.R.? Nobody knows who he is or what he wants, especially the writers. Amanda? Babe? Ava? The revolving door just keeps revolving. Hard as he tries, however, he can't keep up with Ryan, who has had more "true loves" than I have fingers and toes.

Jessie is alive and well again? Well, why not. Anything can happen on AMC, though lately little of it has been good. Perhaps AMC can fix all of its mistakes by pulling a Bobby Ewing shower scene and persuade us all that the Satin Slayer, the Dixie debacle, and even Jessie's death was all a bad dream.

I am so upset RB is back. I loved the new Greenlee and thought Sabine did such a wonderful job with all the material she was given. RB is just not believable as Greenlee anymore. It wasn't her in the bomb shelter with Zach and it just looks like she is going through the motions. PLEASE bring back our Sabine!!!

The characters in a soap opera live in a fantasy world far removed from reality. So since this is the case, of course they can return from the dead. After all, wouldn't the vast majority of mankind bring a lost loved one back to life if it were humanly possible???

OMG, I miss Sabine's acting skills sooo much. Budig is just so, plastic.
