The Strong Tight Pair Drive supplies the fullback with a route that can potentially be open at two different points during a play. What we're going to do to enhance the fullback's route before the play is motion him to the right. By motioning our fullback to the right we are creating an overload that is sure to work out in our favor. This simple, yet effective play can create all kinds of headaches for opponents no matter what kind of defense they prefer playing. Check out this SportsGamer exclusive breakdown in its entirety below.
Quick Setup
Step 1 - Hot route the (B) Tight end to perform a streak (360 - Y + receiver's icon + up on d-pad / PS3 - Triangle + receiver's icon + up on d-pad).
Step 2 - Motion the (LB) fullback to the right (360 / PS3 - Move icon onto player, then press left on d-pad).
Step 3 - (optional) Shift your line protection to the right (360 - LB + right on d-pad / PS3 - L1 + right on d-pad).
Play Breakdown
Our opponent comes out of the huddle in a typical cover 3 zone. The way that we're going to showcase the Drive play will work against any man or zone defense, but it will be up to you to simply make the correct read on the field.
The first thing we do to enhance this play is hot route the (B) tight end to perform a streak to pull the safeties deeper down the field with him.
Next, we move the icon over to the fullback and prepare to send him in motion to the right.
Our fullback moves to the right and prepares to stop just outside of the tight end.
Now that our fullback sets we can look to hit him right after the snap if our opponent doesn't have a defender in the flats. However, to see the far right side of the field better we'll want to shift our line protection to the right so we can roll that way a little bit after the snap.
