2008-11-04 Registered Users can Edit

A notice to everyone, anyone who has registered a user can now edit, so everyone out there help us transfer over all the old wiki articles from google cache and http://gentoo-wiki.info

Please check out the new templates and the new naming convention

2008-11-01 Open Editing Monday

This is just a notice to all the users of the wiki, Editing will be opening up to all registered users on Monday, and they can begin writing new articles or converting old ones.

I would suggest anyone planning on doing this familiarize themselves with the new list of Templates and the new Naming Conventions.

2008-10-29 Routing Issue

At approximately 9:35, 29 October 2008 (GMT), our isp dropped a route to much of its core internet. The connection has been restored, and site is operational.

2008-10-27 New Wiki

Recently Gentoo-Wiki lost it's database, you can read more here. But the short story is as follows:

Our servers were hosted by Skiplink, Skiplink in turn were housed by TelX. TelX accused Skiplink of not paying the bills and locked Skiplink out of the building and shut off the power to the servers. The servers are still there, with my backups. We dont feel we will be able to get this data back in a timely manner, so we have started again. We will be getting it back eventually at which point I will create a copy of it for copying to this new wiki.

Also as the main admin to all the wiki's I apologize that this set of circumstances ever happened and I will be doing offsite backups from here on in.
