On The Inside

To Beat New York, These Players Must Step Up

The reality, as we all understand, is that the Eagles have to play as perfect a game as possible to defeat the 11-1 Giants on Sunday. Every player, every coach, every situation, has to be right. The 48-20 pasting of the Cardinals was a glimpse into how good this team can be, but the mark of a truly outstanding team is the ability to play at that level on a week-in, week-out basis.

And so the Eagles have the opportunity to keep their playoff hopes alive with a win over the mighty Giants. Here are some players who have a particularly-needy spotlight on them heading into this game ...

TRENT COLE, DEFENSIVE END

Cole doesn't have the sack numbers of one season ago -- he has seven -- but Cole has played very well in every phase of the game. He'll need to get after Eli Manning and make Manning move off his spot. The first priority of the defense is to stop the run, but the Giants are just as capable at beating teams with their passing game. Manning is still prone to turning the ball over and losing ball security in the pocket when he is pressured. Cole is going to see double teams, chipping, and a lot of nasty stuff thrown his way. Doesn't matter. A premier end, which Cole is, makes a difference in games like this.

BRODRICK BUNKLEY, DEFENSIVE TACKLE

In his second season as a starter, Bunkley seems to be ready to take that next step in his development. He is a good player on the way to becoming a very, very good player. This is the kind of game that can help Bunkley move forward. The Giants are excellent inside with their blocking scheme, they are very physical and they have a devastating blend at running back. Bunkley has to be big. He made 11 tackles in the first meeting against the Giants, despite an overall defensive performance that struggled.

NICK COLE, RIGHT GUARD

It would surprise no one if the Giants lined up Justin Tuck over Cole and challenged Cole with his physical play and athletic ability. The Eagles are on their third right guard of the season, and before the season one of the areas of question on this team was the depth along the offensive line. With injuries to Shawn Andrews and Max Jean-Gilles, Cole has a chance to make his reputation against one of the best defensive lines in the league. Cole is a shorter guard, but he is very powerful and has good feet.

TRA THOMAS, LEFT TACKLE

Big one for Thomas and the edges of the line. The Eagles face the prospect of some nasty weather in Giants Stadium -- snow is in the forecast -- and they may have to shorten up their game plan. Thomas has is going to see some pressure on blitzes and from the Giants' defensive scheme. He needs to give Donovan McNabb time to throw. The last time the Eagles wre in Giants Stadium was not a pretty sight for the offense. The Eagles have to win the line of scrimmage.

L.J. SMITH, TIGHT END

Smith has 22 catches and 3 touchdowns, not exactly the kind of production the Eagles need from the tight end position. In this game, Smith has to be a weapon. The short- and intermediate-range passing game has to be there for McNabb to offset the New York pressure defense and, potentially, the weather conditions. Smith had 32 yards worth of receptions against Arizona, his third-highest yardage total of the season. He had 3 catches and 32 yards in the previous game against the Giants after missing a game with a concussion. Without production from the tight ends, the Eagles will have a hard time getting the ball outside to the receivers. Smith must force the Giants to respect the area between the hash marks.

STEWART BRADLEY, LINEBACKER

New York's rushing success from one month ago doesn't fall directly on Bradley's shoulders, but he is the middle linebacker and Bradley takes great pride in having success against the run. Bradley recorded 16 total tackles in that game, but the Giants still controlled the line of scrimmage and the second level of the defense on the way to 219 yards on the ground. Bradley must be around the ball all game. He has to get off blocks and get to Brandon Jacobs and Co. before they have a chance to run downhill. It is a tall task, and it is going to be a telling one for Bradley. Is he ready to be a top-flight middle linebacker? He is making strides. This is a big game for Bradley and the defense.

QUINTIN MIKELL, SAFETY

Mikell leads the Eagles with 133 total tackles, has 3 interceptions and 2 quarterback sacks. He has had a fine season. In this game, Mikell has to do it all. He has to support against the run and he has to help in coverage, particularly against tight end Kevin Boss. Mikell also has to be over-the-top help against the Giants down the field. Now, New York doesn't have Plaxico Burress. That is a headache the Eagles don't need to worry about in this game. But the Giants are still threats with Domenick Hixon, the ageless Amani Toomer, Steve Smith and Sinorice Moss. It is a good group. The Eagles can't get lulled into a false sense of security here.

SAV ROCCA, PUNTER

Rocca averaged 45.6 gross yards punting against the Giants the first time around, but New York returned two punts for 45 yards. Not good. That isn't necessarily on Rocca, but in these conditions, this late in the season, Rocca may be called upon to directional kick and limit any New York returns. Rocca's only poor game of the year came in Cincinnati when, in swirlling conditions, he had trouble with everything from the drop to kicking into an across-the-field wind. He may face the same situation here. It is going to be quite a late-season test for the second-year punter.

DONOVAN McNABB, QUARTERBACK

This goes without saying, of course. McNabb is the driver of the offensive engine. He has to show the same poise, pace and confidence he did against Arizona. That was McNabb in one of his best games of the season. In the earlier game against the Giants, McNabb was 17 of 37, but he also threw 3 touchdown passes and ran for 35 yards. Mixed in was a costly interception. He knows the deal. The Giants have a pressure-oriented defense. McNabb has to be quick with his reads, accurate and very decisive.

Of course, the list could go on and on. Everyone needs to play an "A" game to beat New York and get a little something going in this home stretch of the season.

I'll leave you all, with this, final story. I was about 10 yrs old, at the "Mummers Parade,in Philly," with my father, who was an amateur, photographer. My dad, sporting a "Bolex 16 mm camera," and I, were observing the parade, by the "judge's reviewing stand," when my dad struck up a conversation with a, "Wise Guy," who told him the judging results were for suckers. Obviously my dad, naive to this scenario, doubted the validity of this strangers, conclusions, relative the, "Furnished," placement and winners in the judgement categories. The winning results, furnished by this ,"In the know," individual, were reported by the Phila. Bulletin & Enquirer, "Three days later," the results, identical to those revealed by the stranger. Coincidence, maybe, but obviously designed to appear that way. I hope I'm wrong, but gambling, is a Multi Billion Dollar Business. Sometimes, "Seeing is believing." Why were some of the crucial players, recently suspended and members of the Vikings Organization, allowed to play, by order of a judge, until more time was alocated, giving them time, to prepare their cases? These case's are to be heard, after seasons end? Another coincidence? Am I cynical? I guess I am!

Chris, "I know this statement will appear dillusional," but even play calling can result in a "win or loss," decision, at crucial moments, during a game changing situation. I've seen this scenario within "Police organizations, investigating each other," do you think it isn't possible, in a "sporting event?" Sometime's you have seen and can know too much...

Icon / Chris; I agree, refs haven't looked kindly to the Eagles. But the refs can't do anything about a blowaway performance. If there's a fix, it's Reid being paid to lose.

icon: I do believe, but I'm not lookin for handouts. I want this to be the game of season - a slugfest experts will talk about when we march on to the superbowl. I want Nick Cole to manhandle Fred Robbins. I want Tra to lock down the left side. I want Eckel to earn at least 10 carries. I want Westbrook to crack a big one. I want Baskett to catch another fade and I want Avant to blast Aaron Ross on his way to the endzone. I want Mcnabb to laugh and smile like he always does. I want Sheldon to finally get an int for the season, and I want peanut to have a big game. I want the linebackers to leak diesel fuel from all the big hits they give out. I want it all . . . if they really play up to their level then, win or lose, they've played like we all know they can play and should have played during the 1st 8 games. IF they give me that, I'm happy. This game is about more than a game, its about pride. I want to know who is gonna go into the postseason and into next season with pride.

um yeah...this is an Eagles site. As has been the mantra for most of the season, a balanced offensive attack which maintains time of possession, and keeps the roaches on their heels should be the order of the day, amoung others. Sixty minutes of precise receiver routes w/ Don getting into a good rhythm early, as well as a good mix of 36 and some smashmouth from Eckel. The ground game will be key in minimizing their monster pass rush playmakers. Spuds failed to mention the other Quintin, who IMO, has given our O a boost as of late by leaving a short field to operate. I'm sure JJ will have some schemes dialed up to make it extremely uncomfortable for Eli in the pocket. Jacobs will get his one way or the other-however, the way our LBs and safeties swarm to the point of attack will dictate how much success their 3 headed monster will have. This game IS the season for all intents and purposes. Tis the season folks...I wouldn't expect nothing less than a sick n nasty game...Gmen are primed to come back to earth at the hands of a team ready to go on a stretch run! Time for our guys to show the league WE WILL NOT BE DENIED!! Birds have chalked up a W in 3 of the last 5 road trips to NJ...make it 4 of 6 come sunday afternoon. We refuse to be swept kids. nah rocky you had to be here to understand why it all came up lol nuuddlzzz listen, norfolk is actually pretty nice. i know some people who like it there, but its not for me as im a city girl. if you like the city but want to live close enough to comute if necessary but far enough to afford, try sterling/haymarket/definitely culpepper VA. culpepper is up and coming, as well as winchester. about an hour from DC, so if you found work there and were getting paid, you shouldnt mind living there. also, front royal too. its quite country, but theyre building that place up and it has GORGEOUS views of the shenandoah. see when i get upset, i go driving, and one day i drove about 45 mins out there and it was beautiful!!! so if you want to be near northern VA, try those areas. you can luck up in manassas or woodbridge and find a cheap place (a house even!) for rent for about 1200 a month, just gotta look around. i personally like it down there, as DC is about 20 minutes away (maybe a little more actually) and its deifnitely got the urban feel. stay far away from fairfax county. virginia beach isnt bad...i kinda liked it when i was there. do you have a preferance? if youd rather stay in md, try the chesapeake area buddy.

Noodle, You call me a dope for my list, yet I posted that we need all those positions. I even put Alex Mack on my list, but doubt he'll be around. There are much worse teams, in much more dire need of C than we. If we get Robinson, Herrimans moves to LT (where he ought to be anyway), Andrews tries out RT, Cole tries out C, and Mcglynn and MJG fight it out for RG. We might lose both our OTs next season. Think about things, before calling me a Homer Simpson phrase.

Something that's been really getting to me latey, although discussed before, is the perception of the fans towards donovan. I know there are haters and always will be, but I think it's safe to say that 90% of us think he's great, and support him as long as he's our QB. It's been argued by me that the boos last week were for the pass pass pass playcalling of that drive and the 3 and out...not for the incomplete pass thrown by #5. Member of inside the NFL stated that a good day will be when donovan flys the coop and we fans live to regret it. I find that to be insulting. Chris called the game and stated that the boos were for #5 for the 1st incomplete pass and now thats what everyone thinks. Does anyone see where i'm coming from here?

well for one, we definitely need a TE. but id rather get one in the free agency if possible. i dont think we ever had a chance to get gonzalez, the chiefs were bluffing! So i WILL say we need to shop around for a good one. I really like jason witten and dallas clark. those guys catch the important balls i cant stress enough. if we got a WR, instead of gettin percy harvin (rookie), i say build on desean, curtis, and baskett and bring in somebody like marvin harrison: MVP, pro-bowl, and hall-of-fame player who is unnoticed because he isn't a queen like TO or burress or even chad johnson. i WILL say chad doenst sound bad right about now. draft-wise, i say we need to get some guys for the offensive line since ours is aging and fast. we might have a shaky year comin up, but we'll at least know the team is only getting better with fresh players. i think maybe a right guard or something, and since i dont know exactly whos in the draft just yet, i'll hold off on names. i also think we need a new linebacker, safety on defense, and possibly a kicker in case akers decides to pull off another shaky season (although he's looked great lately). all this crabtree talk is daunting, as he probably won't be available for the draft. running back wise, i need to see booker/eckel(hes not a RB though right??) play some more before i say go ahead and trade them off and get someone worth the money.

as to the draft: you dopes are talking guard? We got enough prospects there, especially if Cole puts a few dents in Robbins' helmet. We need a top shelf center. And a sure handed tight end. and some depth at safety. in that order, dopes.

Hey Kira - thanks for the input about North VA. I wouldnt have known otherwise. As far as VA in general, I'm really only looking at the Norfolk area, since they got an apprenticeship program at one of the shipyard. I love the sea and I love ships, so even if I cant work on an active ship, the idea of working close to them appeals to me. If you got any more input, dont think twice about sharing, because I can certainly use it. Thanks again.

Thanks Kira, but I'm not lonely. I'm over Sara finaly. She calls sometimes and I think purposely causes Katrina to be loud so I can hear how perfectly she converses now..(Her daughter, not mine.. love her untill my dying day. If she shows up years down the road, curious to who was her father since months till 3 years, I'll happily accept her back into my life as a daughter I never created). Our squadron was undermanned at all times, because we usualy had 1 to 3 deployments going out at once. There are other websites for posts like those." To me, it just looks like you're trying to prove what bozo has said all along - and thank you icon, but do my comments really seem all that angry? i didnt think so...its mainly my sarcasm and mean comments, like "shut up!" or "you dont matter to me" that were just a bit much. i really like you though michael anthony...i remmeber you and i'm sorry to have said those things. i didnt mean it, and to clarfy, you definitely matter to me - how else did i remember you? i can tell you were divorced though...the whole trying to figure out what you did thing. wonder why it didnt work out? you seem quite catchy yourself.

I agree Lion, but these guys are good, and I've done alot of research. You don't think there are so many scouting reports this early for no reason do You? It's never a bad time to dip our feet into the drafting possibilities. It's just a discussion to talk about, after all. And no Kira, I do have to be sorry, because I never meant for You to get angry. I only said "Back to football talk then, no thoughts on the edited mock draft, anyone?" because I knew You were getting angry and wanted to sway the discussion away from You. I believe we were both wrong for things we've said. Should have put the words in less aggressive tones.

Duke Robinson; Heavy run blocking guard, with good footwork and speed for his size. Chase Coffman; Quick, sure hands, strong TE. Kam Chancellor; Tall (6'4" If I remember correct) fast, hard hitting S that has played both SS and FS positions during college. Arian Foster/Jennings; Both are bruising power backs. Jorv Lane; REALLY big bruising FB. Not real fast, but quick considering his hefty size.

JB and Brizer; My updated mock 09 draft. In order as available: 1a- OG Duke Robinson, OT Jason Smith, OT Ciron Black. 1b- TE Chase Coffman, TE Brandon Pettigrew. 2- S Kam Chancellor. 3- RB Arian Foster, RB Rashad Jennings. I'm still not 100% on 4,5a, and 5b, but I'm still looking into a few recievers, CBs, and OT/G/Cs for them. Also looking at FB Jovarsky Lane for a 4-5 pick.

the only thing that worries me about desean is his weight/height. he reminds me of pinkston, and trust me, i dont like being reminded of that bum. i just havent seen him get any monster hits (OMG LIKE THAT ONE GUY OFF THE PATRIOTS TEAM) and i don't want to ever see it, but then again i want to see if he could handle those and how he would adjust to the situation of its presented to him: he knows a big guy is coming and will hit him immediately if he grabs the ball. grab the ball for the 70 yard gain by the one-yard line but brace for a HUGE hit that could possibly result in a fumble/embarassment he cant handle big things, or a season-ending injury? or the ultimate pinkston move: BUMP THAT! do a little alligator arm twist, miss the opportunity, and call it a game. team of opposition -_-

Wow, why is nobody buying us making the playoffs if we win out? If ATL loses to the Bucs and the Vikings, the way I have projected, we're good. They COULD even lose the upset to the Saints. The Panthers, they have the top WC just about clinched, unless the Panthers win this weekend. In which case the Bucs have it. We need to beat the Girls and Skins. I'm not as worried about the Falcons, as I am about our own schedule. Realisticly we shouldn't win out. Phanaticaly, we will.

Hey Noodles, I have a money making proposition for you. Read the following: Young Chuck moved to Texas and bought a Donkey from a farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the Donkey the next day. The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news, your donkey died.' Chuck replied, 'Well, then just give me my money back.' The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and spent it already.' Chuck said,'Ok, then, just bring me the dead donkey. The farmer asked, 'What ya gonna do with him?' Chuck said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.'The farmer said: 'You can't raffle off a dead donkey!' Chuck said, 'Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead.' A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, 'What happened with that dead donkey?' Chuck said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a piece and made a profit of $998.' The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?' Chuck said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.' Chuck now works on Wall Street for AIG.....Looks like a boiler plate for success to me!

Does anyone else see the eerie connection between the up coming Giant game and last years Patriot game? It's about at the same point in the season as last year's Patriot game, the Eagles need the game to stay in the playoff hunt as with last years game, and the Giants are currently the best team in football just like the Patriots were last year. Too many similarities. I also think like the Patriot game last year the Eagles will need to play a perfect game to win, unless for some strange reason the Giants lay an egg. I like everyone's enthusiasm and all but I haven't quite jumped on the bandwagon just yet. Arizona is a very poor road team. Another thing that bothers me is the Eagles haven't won a game by 7 points or less since 2007 and are 3-9-1 in the last two years in games decided by 7 or less. I haven't seen McNabb perform well in a close game that the Eagles actually won since I don't know when. I don't want to rain on everyone's parade but it will be a huge upset if the Eagles win considering their recent track record. I'll still be pulling for them to win as hard as always on Sunday though I admit I'm not too optimistic.

Why don't you try and get a clearance or something? If something doesn't work for ya, move on from it. The plan about living with the rents isnt bad at all. you can save cash hopefully, work things out - nothing wrong with that at all. i suggest you get a honda...i like hondas. would prefer a beemer, but have to wait a few years for that ultimate prize. location location location. def dont move to northern VA. prices for the smallest place are through the roof, even though the economy isnt so great. id suggest perhaps delaware? ecklin sounds nice, but a little boring. philly is only two and a half hours from where i am, so you can't go wrong really anywhere from d.c. to camden. but camden is BAD! you might also try laurel MD.

Chuck, FYI Cornell is a pretty decent squad. They won the Ivy League (which isn't such a bad conference by the way) last year and went to the tournament and are favorites to repeat. They had a few injuries earlier in the year to their starting guards so they lost a couple of games they shouldn't have. Bottom line is don't be so worried that Cuse didn't smoke them. They aren't the Cornell of old.

kb: I'd love to see the eagles take another tall and beefy reciever, myself. There are a lot of recievers slated to go in the first 2 rounds, but after the 08 draft . . . dunno. And we gotta account for 3 other positions that are hurting more than reciever. He sounds legit, though.

We're talking about a kid that has broken one of Jerry Rice's records. I'm not comparing him to Rice at all, but I would hate to see a player of his caliber go to a division rival. Chucko: Sheldon doesnt need to be quick if he gets a good jam on Hixon, who is a bit of a string bean. He couldnt cover Burress because Burress is a physical load with burners, he could muscle his way past Brown and beat Lito deep. Hixon is fast, but I dont see him shedding Brown easily. Still . . . Samuels commands too much respect for Coughlin to match up a fa accquisition against. Coughlin's no dummy.
Chuck_Love@...
12/04/08
11:02 am
I know they play sides, but I'd much rather see Samuels on Hixon. Hixon is too quick, unless they give Brown a lot of help over the top with a safety. I think Sanuels can play Toomer alone well enough. But at least one Safety is going to have to be up in the box all game long. So somebody is going to be man up in the secondary all day long. Unless we can get a big enough lead, then we'll force them to be one dimensional.

Chuck Taylor: You and I both know that the corners arent assigned to recievers, they just play their sides. Or Asante does, at the least. I expect Coughlin to line up Hixon against Brown and Eli is gonna look to throw that way often, so that is a matchup I'm lookin at. JJ would've schemed for the run in this game regardless of the Burress situation . . . he is pretty good about making adjustments against division rivals over the course of the season.

Yeah, Whitman, and not Walt. The kid could hit from about 30', but for the first 12 minutes of the game they kept letting him get open looks. He drained 6 in the 12 minutes, then 3 more the rest of the way. Coach went to the full CP with 8 to go in the 1st half, and they went from down 16 to down 5 at the half. Rautins has also got to get his act together. He missed several wide open 3's last night.

Here's my deal. People have Maclin going anywhere from 4th overall to mid 2nd round. But to line him up across from Peanut almost assures we see Cover2 stuff all day every day. Cause nobody could handle that speed outside. And... Reid is a Master at gettin matchups. So if we add Gresham Pettigrew or a down the field TE threat like Beckum. Toss in #36. Thats a dangerous O. === still have to overhaul the Oline though.

I watched the 1st nyg game again. Bradley made a ton of tackles but they were way down field. If we can't turn that thing back in towards him... it will be him makin miracle tackles from behind all day again. That play side DE and LB have got to turn that thing inside. Got to break Jacobs stride. Make him restart. === And Gaither was awful that game. I was curious about his benching. But I see it now. He just couldn't run enough. And he got caught up in the trash all day. He's got to get off that lil poor attempt at an off play side block and run that thing down. He looked terrible. To answer my own DRAFT QUIZ. A right side of our OLine with Herman Johnson at G and Andrews at RT... would be tough to pass up. Same with Andrews at RG and Phil Loadholt at RT. But I would take Mack over Caldwell. And I would take Beckum over Coffman. My answer is Alex Mack and Travis Beckum. And I would be thrilled.

After doing some research. It's almost certain that 1 of those C's will fall to our 2nd round pick. Same with TE. Max Unger, Alex Mack or Antoine Caldwell. Germaine Gresham, Travis Beckum, Brandon Pettigrew or Chase Coffman. Also 2nd rounders that will be there... FS's Derek Pegues and Rashad Johnson of Bama. === Now... Mack, Unger and Caldwell are as good a C as you'll find for a prospect. Pettigrew and Gresham are inline blockers that are HUGE targets. Coffman and Beckum are go-up-and-get-it types that have WR skill. And Pegues is a former CB with PR/KR skills that are top of the line. Pretty much Demps but a better returner. And Johnson I just don't know much about. But I'm pullin my Clemson and LSU games as I type to take a look. === But any of those guys with 2 1st rounders.... I admit. Got my 1st 'butterflies' thinkin about next years draft tonight. === My delusional trade thoughts have started. How about takin Will Moore. Trading our other 1st rounder and pickin up Gresham, Alex Mack and 1 of those FS's? === This is gonna be SuuuuWeeeeT!!!

DRAFT QUIZ!!!! === The very worst scenario would be... Carolina and EAGLES play in the NFCCG. 1 of us wins the SB. That would give us the 32nd and 29th/30th pick. Now... every single one of us would agree. If a Mays, Ciron Black, Germaine Gresham, Duke Robinson, Harvin, Maclin or any of the other guys we talked about fall this far... WE TAKE THEM regardless of needs and all that. But in this quiz they are gone. === I picked a mock. Started at 30th pick and got the next 13 available. You get 2 of them. Have at it. === S Kam Chancellor of VT. TE Chase Coffman if Mizzou. OT Sam Young of Notre Dame. WR Ken Britt of Rutgers. OG Herman Johnson of LSU. OT Phil Loadholt of OU. C Alex Mack of Cal. DE George Selvie of South Florida. TE Travis Beckham of Wisconsin. C Max Unger of Oregon. C Antoine Caldwell of Alabama.

As far as makin some nice easy money. A pal-o-mine rented a nice brick house. Paid about $1,200 a month. Spent $800 on a hydroponic grow system and ionizers. 50 plants that fill out every month and a half. Got.... on the average... 3 ounces per plant. Sold them for $300 an ounce. Thats $900 a plant every 3 months. Paid a guy $2400 a month to live there in 1 room so it looked normal. So in other words... he paid out around $12,000 every 3 months to make around $45,000. Did that for 4 years till a cop chopper with infrared busted the house. He paid a lawyer 15,000 bucks. The lawyer got the guy living there 1 month in jail and 10 years probation. Doesn't even have to go in. It's a 'mail it in' probation. At 100 plants... it's mandatory jail. But 99 is just like 1. === So my pal made 1/2 of a mill. over 4 years. There are guys with loans in the 6 figure range who are still doing their stuff. Let me put it this way...think of the jobs you are applying for, how much is the compensation? take that annual salary, just take out the tax, then see how far the take home can make a hole in your loans. As far as the Giants game, a lot is riding on that. If we don`t win that one, there may be considerable changes here in the organization player coaching staff wise. For the game itself, we really need to be disciplined, few penalties, no false starts and then we need to stop the run early. We have to stay with the run on O for a while regardless of whether it is working and then mix in timely passes. It is important to put pressure with just the front 4 on their O line. I know their WR`s are doing well, but Plaxico being out is a lift for us as the guy always finds a way to score and then do that annoying bow. The other WR`s are good, but not necessarily any better than ours, so our secondary just has to play well. We can win, but heart will play a huge part in it.

A lot of good posts today about the Eagles, the draft chat is interesting but I don`t want to get in to all of that at this time because I want to believe the season is still on. I am tempted to talk about Demps, the LB`s as a whole, Clemons and Abiamiri, but that is not the lasting memory I have from the blog today. I keep coming back to Noodles...we are just names or whatever on a website, so quite impersonal, but it is hard not to project people out from their posts. I am not trying to knock anyone, but Noodles, you don`t write like someone who didn`t finish college, literary wise and ability to reason and analyse. I liked your post on recession and companies hiring in a new year. I am not in the "engineering field", so I don`t know much more than the ave Joe, but you kind of sound like you know what you are talking about and more importantly, you seem passionate about it. You seem/are smart enough to get some good gig. Hang in there, only advise, if I may be so bold is that you don`t necessarily have to work "up the ladder". It may also be prudent to look in to other fields while still holding on to your dreams. My apologies if I have over stepped my bounds, but much love.

Icon: I realize that the master techs are getting old, and yeah that will work to my advantage. Those turbines, though, dont have breaks, or steering, or suspension. They probably have transmissions, since they run on backup electricity when the wind dies out, or they dont run at all. So, we're looking at machines that need electricians and journeyman technicians with experience diagnosing and troubleshooting enginges or, more likely, generators. Thats why I dont qualify just yet - I'm still at the apprentice level. Gotta put in a couple years busting tires and adjusting clutches, work my way up to the trannies and the engines. I was applying to the Merchant Marines, and if I got a chance to work in the Boiler room, I would have a good shot at the gensets, but unfortunately I'm color deficient, supposedly cant interpret the signal lights. So I gotta climb the ladder a bit. But I'll look in to it. If they're looking for fresh recruits to train a certain way and if the Governemtn can afford to back mass production, then its a developing field with a lot of upside. Kinda like Baskett.

Noodles, "I know I'm off key," relative Football, at the moment, but not the windmills. Engineers lay out, design, location, quantities and height requirements. The existing personnel, with what you classify as, "Deep resumes," are too old. Do you know, on the East Coast, there are large "Windmill Farms," in NY and Maine and many more that I don't know of. Start tailoring your resume for the future and your future needs. While your starting to re-educate yourself, research and start contacting the companies "now," telling them your interested and asking them what you need to do to further qualify you, for a position. You'd be on the road quite a bit, traveling between sites. (can talk football). At times, you'd be working in a shop, repairing and readying equipment, for installation and out in the field for installation. Beats working in a dingy garage, smelling diesel, exhaust & oil. Give it a shot, while your still "Tech Schooling."

Agreed Noodle, that's why I said I hope I'm wrong about him, and much earlier claimed "he IS young though". I don't think You can completely disagree about my top S picks though, have You checked them out? If we don't pick up any experienced FS from FA or trades, I still want Mays, a tall, strong, fast, beast! Otherwise, Ellison being only 6' is very balanced and will be a premiere safety. If none of my top 3 S are available for our 1b or 2 pick, then I would leave safety alone, let Demps continue to improve, and readdress the situation 2010 offseason. If they are available, I don't see why not pick up a future S, with us having two late first round picks, and a relatively early third (2nd round) pick. In order I believe we need OL, WR, power RB, TE improvements. I stand firm that Mays would complete our secondary, leaving LB in the spotlight. Otherwise, we draft two high linemen and a WR. I like Brandon Spikes as a LB pick, but I don't know that it's time to look at that yet. Especialy with Bradley doing well for his first year at MIKE. (Spikes would only be superier at MIKE)

Geeze, "Hell of a lot of good posts here today!" I'm going to have to get up earlier, to stay informed, by reading them all. Noodles, Fanatic & Phelanjo, you guys are really cooking. "Sounds like your all on the same team!" I like it! Noodles, "Your going to have to find a job," brother. If you don't, "I'm going to have to get another job so I can buy a new super computer!" The last two days, 400 posts on different threads, wow! My "puter," takes so long to reload, the topics are old by the time I get to them! (Not Serious). Although it's not "Diesel Mechanics" and I've been away from the PA area, too long, to know if there's a real need there, you may want to look into "Windmill Turbines." Sounds like you got the additional electronics knowledge and they're starting to take off. I've seen them and know they're big in NY. Imagine, "Noodles a Giants Fan?" Will be an up and coming thing in the "Obama Administration." Just a thought, guy... Got some "business on my plate," Good Business! Talk with you people tomorrow. "Eagles to the End," Icon.

And regardless, even if I'm wrong and Demps becomes a superier FS, we still need depth at FS, via draft, trade, or FA. And like I've said over and over, there are two, maybe three Safetys I would take high in the draft, otherwise Demps can fight someone for the spot next preseason. I would like to see Demps continue getting consistant snaps the rest of this season though. I wouldn't mind if I am wrong about him, so long as it makes the draft even easier/ more exciting.
PhillyEaglesFanatic@...

Yeah but I have to look for it, Noodle. I was up late nights researching this stuff. Demps hasn't started, but did take snaps. Also, You don't remember when Dawk got tinged earlier in the season for a brief period, and Demps took the snaps until his return?

Brizer, Kenny is 6'4" or 6'3". 6'4" if I remember correctly, and could be available at pick 40. I really do like Harvin, but You're right about him not being outright tall. He has ups, runs hard, and is close to as quick as Peanut though.

the hard-hitting safety is dying out in the league. Theres so many damn rules that make hard hits impossible to make nowadays. Coaches actually prefer cover safeties. But we did wiff on Kenny Phillips. Then again . . . Laws is getting better and we did land Peanut. And Demps is killing it on ST. Seriously . . . your off the deep end. And Demps is not CREDITED with any defensive snaps outside of Arizona, that I've seen. You got a source to back you up?

He had snaps in every game.. not many, but he did. When Dawk was tweaked earlier in the season, Demps came in. Also for breathers, Demps has had time, and didn't have any breath-taking performances. Solid against the Cardinals? He had what, 3 tackles or so? No bat or INTs all season.

When I say S needs to be in our high draft attack, I'm talking if Mays, Ellison, maybe Moore if he shows promise at scouting combines. Otherwise, I agree that this year might not be the time to draft high safeties. I just really believe that both saftey positions should be held by heavy hitters. Otherwise, we just have an extra CB out there with Demps.

as to recievers: this is the best group we've had under reid. Can any of you provide actual facts supporting the inadequacy of this group? Remember . . . the FO was pushing for Reggie Brown to get a starter's load, and Curtis has been INJURED. If Baskett and Avant were allowed to remain in the starting rotations, their numbers would be much higher. How do I know? Because baskett leads our entire team in big catches and Avant has the best hands that Reid has ever seen. T.O. had the dropsies. Avant definitely doesnt.

If we need taller corners, we should look at Shaun (maybe sean, can't remember) Smith of Utah. He's tall, has hands and is a great corner all around. I doubt he'd go too high in the rounds but would be an excellent 3rd or 4th round pick. And yes, the receivers need to be addressed. I also saw someone said we need to improve the safeties. are you kidding? Quintin Mikel is freakin pro bowl material, Dawkins is still as good as ever, Demps shows promise. We might need another back up but i think that it's all set there.

jo: your akers story doesnt surprise me at all. Giants would do anything to throw off our good players, and Akers was one of them until recently. I dont like him kicking anything over 35 yds in the Meadowlands. As to stretching the defense . . . thats where a 4wr lineup comes in. Desean and Baskett are pretty good at big plays, and there oughtta be some running lanes for Westbrook without the linebackers crowding the line. Spreading the defense is all and well . . . but we gotta have that power game goin, too. If Kleck and chief-excel can move the pile a bit, Mcnabb wont have to worry about Fred Robbins. Thats a big load off of Mcnabb.

Alright, I agree on Gresham then. Smith can even block well, according to Reid. Don't need another quick TE, unless they can catch in traffic. phanatic: Your forgetting one thing about Demps . . . he was among the best of the draft class at stripping the ball. Tackling was a bit sloppy, but he has a knack for putting his hands where he can rip the ball out. Hard knocks aint the only way to force turnovers.

Good point on the Tiger defense as a whole. JJ can make any secondary player better. I hope they keep paying JJ right, he's a top payed DC as is, and can learn to use any player to his advantage. I just can't seem to get over Mays hitting though. We need someone like that in our secondary. I know Mikell and Brown can hit, and I know that scares recievers out of catchable balls. Imagine Mays being out there also. Our secondary would be the most feared in the NFL for years. I still take Ellison over Moore. Ellison looks like he can improve and improve untill his dying day.

The T.O. season was a fluke, losers. How do I know? Because in 05, we were 5-11, with T.O. playing the first half of the season. He got locked down by Deangelo Hall in the season opener, just months after Mcnabb and Westbrook torched the Falcons secondary. We went to the superbowl on a soft schedule. Disagree all you want . . . but show me the tough games that T.O. pulled us through. The Baltimore game is the only one that comes to mind, and Baltimore didnt have an offense that year. That same year, the steelers pitched a shutout against our T.O. offense. The whole season was a fluke.

wow phaggo, you really are outta touch. Thats okay - I'm here specifically to deal with deadweight, social security slobs like you, so I will explain to you how the working world works. In the automotive industry and especially the truck branch of automotive, companies use this thing called a contract whenever they hire new employees. A contract is a piece of paper with an agreement, honored by our judicial system, outlining the terms of employment the Employer and employee must abide by. These contracts are designed to begin at particular junctures in the working year. I got out of school very recently, and the working year is coming to an end, because the year itself is coming to an end. Most employers are waiting until the beginning of the new year to offer contracts to prospective employees. So, currently, the job market is slim. The country is also in a major recession. You know what a recession is, right? Remember when your mommy didnt have enough milk in her udders to breastfeed you "because of the recession"?

I'm going with either Ciron or Duke, so that we can pick up Harvin, Mays, Ellison, Gresham, or basicaly any of the other S, WR, or RBs can be available to us. If we manage to pick up an experienced reciever / TE during FA or early trades, I would love to get back Ciron and Robinson, and hope for Andre Brown or Kevin Ellison from the draft. But check this, and ponder on it a moment. 25th - Duke Robinson, 26th- Mays or Harvin. 40th - Ellison(if no Mays) Kenny Britt (if no Harvin, he's 6'4" and great hands!) or Phil Loadholt(Runyan look, and played alongside Duke Robinson!! gotta admit...when TO was here, we certainly had something to cheer for. we were like the giants...when burress is out, they still win. well, when TO broke his leg, we still got to the SB. sure, he played in that game and we still lost. i think he was more mad he couldnt go down in history as the fallen hero. we still lost...but i honestly do believe if he was healthy, we would have won. the man has talent...and our receiving corps is definitely good enough to win. at the same time, they aren't electrifying and you have to wait it out for them to make big plays. with TO, you KNEW they were coming at some point. so yes...having that go-to guy is always great. and the reasons teams are still successful when that guy might be out a few games is because they rally together and want to prove they can win it as a team. i think mcnabb was humbled when benched. and now, i hope that history will repeat itself this year and for everyone that counted us out, WHAT EV!!! but im off, bye guys!

JB - I agree 100% about William Moore. He's good, but always late to the point of attack for some reason. Maybe it's all in his mind, because someone as athletic as him shouldn't get beaten as often. Mays IS a monster, hits harder than Dawk. I'll be surprised if he's around next year, but I don't think Demps is our man at FS. Fast, sure, good at ST, sure. But he's played for a few snaps in most games this season, if not all, and only accumilated limited tackles, no INT, no bat downs. Mays could be our future, but I don't exactly know that he'll still be available. Ellison might be the more realist choice.

And about that drafting, it depending on who we trade for and pick up in FA, and our standings by postseason. These are predictions based on rounded minimum picks. CAR #1(25th)+ PHI #1(26th)- G Duke Robinson(amazing run blocking & above average PB), S Taylor Mays(MONSTER hitter), and/or WR Percy Harvin(DeSean Jackson type). PHI #2(40th) WR Kenny Britt(6'4"), RB LeSean Mcoy(Westbrook clone), or RB Andre Brown(MONSTER runner). ------- Other names for curious Eagle draft fans are, OT Ciron Black(Thomas type), WR Darrius Heyward-bey(Fast, good hands), TE Jermaine Gresham(fast, good hands, strong), LB Brandon Spikes(Hard hitting monster at MIKE), S Kevin Ellison(well rounded), and OT Phil Loadholt(Runyan type)

"Kira," believe me, JB and Bri, are not "WeB Masters." JB gave Bri that name. Why, cause they want to rule and control the site! Haven't you noticed, "Bri defends and concurs with, mostly, everything that JB says?" He was so dazzeled by "JB's Football knowledge and accruing," it became reciprical, a catalyst for continued research. At times, renders good results until the put downs occur. Ex. "Runce you dunce!" They haven't given up though!! Anyway, I have a new prediction on the Eagles postseason/drafting. If we win out, we're 10-5-1. I have Falcons losing to TB and MIN. I have the Girls losing to PIT, NYG, us. I think Bal will give them a run for their money also. DAL - 9-7. WAS needs only to lose versus us. I'm having the Panthers fall apart but still gather the top WC spot, with TB leading that division. IF WE WIN OUT, I believe in the NFC WC#2 spot.

Deb: you gotta look at the recievers within the right context. 4 of our recievers have stepped up, namely Peanut, Baskett, Avant, and Curtis. Brown and Lewis have been phazed out of the gameplan, so they wont have the opportunity to step up or screw up. Curtis has been a bit sloppy, but he is coming back from surgery and he gets better every week, so the reciever corps, in its current condition, really doesnt need to step up. But if our young recievers have a big game, like they did in the 1st contest (Baskett, Avant, and Peanut all had touchdowns, if youll recall) then we got a real good shot at winning. Why isnt Westbrook on this list, I wonder? Or Jaamal Jackson, for that matter?

Game comes down to the big boys up front, bottom line. Last time our defensive front got manhandled by that strong and athletic Giants offensive line. Our offensive line did an excellent job pass blocking, but did not have the heart and grit to get a single yard on the last drive. It is tough to run the ball consistently and have a balanced offensive attack if the OL is not opening any holes, which has been the problem in some games this year. I do not think the weather will affect the Eagles passing attack, as McNabb throws the rock like it has been shot out of a cannon; it cuts through the wind, rain, or snow with no problem. Another key is getting in front early, because if you allow the game to stay close, Eli always makes the big plays at the end whether you want to hear it or not. You go up 10 to 14 points early, that is when he reverts to the Eli of old and gets careless with the football. My personal opinion is that if the Eagles steal one this Sunday, we steamroll over Cleveland on Monday Night and go into Washington with a hot red team and more than likely will run the table.

and im shocked spadaro didnt put a WR on the list. all have dropped crucial balls or committed doofus plays that require THEY step it up too. if he names one, id have to say reggie brown. the other receivers seem to be OK in that respect, but i dont want to see lewis!!! he should be on here too because i know at some point (HOPEFULLY NOT THIS GAME!!) he'll be off the sidelines and in the lineup and thrown the ball and!!! yup, you guess it, will drop it. our defense def has to be on it's A-game though, and the offense needs the consistency they showed against the cards. keep in mind this is the same "bad" team some have said that beat the girls right before romo went down. okay? so that was a VERY good victory. it became too close for comfort because the defense decided to go into cruise control in the fourth. see how the giants played in the last couple of minutes against the redskins? never gave up. had that been the eagles, the score would have been deceiving once we let them score that final TD, even though the game was over anyways. unacceptable.

I dont like the fact that he cant shoulder the offense for 4 quarters unlike Brady and Manning but . . . you cant have everything. Pass pass pass, losing season. 2nd half? Marty was publicly given the playcalling duties, and he balanced the runpass ratio. We went to the playoffs because of balance. All I gotta say is that the defensive line needs to win the battles up front. Look at how the redskins approached the game and what they did to limit the giants rushing attack. Control the line of scrimmage and go for the legs. You hit the RB's down low and they can't get to their downhill speed. Kill that running game and make manning throw so we can get some INT's. Jus dont allow them to run all over us and gash us with 219 rushing yards!

alchovolic: right on the money. This game is about heart, by both teams. Eagles showed it against the Cards, from top to bottom. Reid had fire against the Cards, and he needs it this sunday. Marty had fire, he needs it this sunday. Donny dont need no fire, juuuuuust a cool hand and some help from the running game. More than anything, the linemen need fire. I like Cole's confidence in his post-game interview - he looks hungry. Entire line needs to get rough. Defensive line has so much to prove, they are a failure if they dont play their best game on sunday. I'm with you . . . play rough, and its a win.

YOU ARE RIGHT TO AN EXTENT, the final factor if running with the Qb, especially when the Qb is great runner. It takes a saftey of MLB out of the middle. Opens up dumps to B West (not just screens), LJ (cant believe I said that), and slot WR. When you dont run with your RBs and you have great running QB that doesnt run you lay back in coverage. You must press the issue of running, since MM and Reid wont D Mac has to. I also dont think D Mac will ever be a pure passer ( A lA Manning, Brady, Brees). He was more of an option QB in college too. Thats not a bad thing, you just have to play call to his strengths AND I CAN GUARANTEE 40-50 throws a game is not good for him.

Hey guys and gals,Sunday's game is going to come down to which team wants it more. Do the Eagles want to continue having a shot at the playoffs,or do the Giants want to get the NFC East title? Who wants it more? I say the Eagles, because 2 of the past 3 years, the Eagles have been sitting home, wheras the Giants are champs. McNabb himself has sat at home for the past 3 years. Does he want it to be 4 straight? Then you throw in the T.O. jr. distraction with Plexiglass,Jacobs, and Pierce, and it's ours for the taking. I'm calling this team's heart out! If they can't win this game, especially in the snow, than the Eagles have no heart. And that goes for the FO as well. Yes,Reid I'm calling you out as well. You go out and win this damn game. You've been beaten so many times by the giants that the excusues need to stop. No more,"everybody has a piece of the pie" or ,"we were just a little off,we'll get it fixed" crap. It's time to take back this division, and crawl and scratch our way back out of the East cellar. If players get ejected for being rough,I don't care. If we lose because we're too physical,i.e. an unnecesary roughness hit on Eli puts them in game-winning field goal position,I'm fine with that. I don't want to see last years game happen, where they beat us up and down the field, but We had a chance at a game-tying field goal at the end, which Akers bounced off the post. UH UH! I want us to do the pounding, not them. Just like the last time we beat them, during the playoffs with Garcia. We just were more physical, and at the end,Westbrook punched it down their throat, play after play.

easy enough to say, ball-hawk. Reid and Marty and Shurmer and Whipple can tell him to run and he might listen, or he might not. When he's on the field, Donny decides to pass or run. He should take advantage of open real estate, certainly, but he shouldnt have to run it to shake up the defense. That is what you have a running game for. Its that simple. Mcnabb didnt get it done from 99-2002, even though he was running just as much as Deuce was. #5 is actually on his way to his best season in terms of yardage, and he has produced touchdowns in every game that the coaches have allowed him to throw in the redzone. His mechanics and his recievers are fine. The offense only suffers from the lack of a run game. Reid was calling the Cinci and Baltimore games, and if you cant see that you were not watching the game, its that simple.

I think DMac could be a could pure passer if they utilized the Run Game more. Its hard to throw on DIME defenses when they kno you are going to throw.

I think Reid and MM pigeon hole D MAC into being a pure passer and he is not that. He is a damn good qb with great athleticism! When he got hurt I think Reid reigned him in when he got injured those times. When that happened D Mac lost confidence in his decision making ability, which in turn hurt his confidence in throwing the ball because of facing DIME defenses a lot. Very tough for anyone to look accurate throwing on DIME Defenses

As better qb coaching, I am not sure we could use a little of that. A good Qb coach will D mAc back to what made him ALMOST unstoppable and feared. I think D Mac has to do what he is good at...RUN A LITTLE. If he does that just enough to keep the defense on their heels he will 10 TIMES as productive, because there has to be a spy on him freeing up the middle of the field for Slot WR and a TE!

Andy always has a play chart at one time or another during the game, he likes to know what is called and when. Norv defines balance. Look at the balance in San Fran, Dallas, and San Diego as o coordinator. I think FO has to force reid to be the COACH, not Coach, gm, talent scout, car wash guy, ball boy, team cook, and any other job he has. (last few were jokes of course. I would ove to Norv here, but it wont happen! We wont see a OC change until there is a regime change. The only OC change will be Reid doing it all again. WHICH I DONT WANT!!!

When Marty is at the helm he gets it done play calling wise. Andy is way too pass happy. Marty believes in balance. And managing the game with short quick accurate passes and takes his shots down the field when needed. Not all the time like Andy

ballhawk: I saw both the Cinci and Baltimore games. In both those games, Reid was roaming the sidelines with a playchart, and Marty was invisible. Reid was calling that game, or at least heavily involved in the game plan. Against Arizona . . . Reid didnt have a big chart. Marty isnt my 1st choice for the offense, but if he is allowed to call the game by himself, he will call a somewhat more balanced game, just like he did when Garcia was qb. The big obstacle for this team has always been Reid - he tries to do too much, and makes himself inept. I'd love a coordinator with a spine, someone to tell Reid to shut up, but I dont see that happening nowadays.

ball-hawk: Turner is good with quarterbacks, no denying that. We dont need better coaching of the quarterback, we just need better coaching FOR the quarterback. Any move at OC needs to emphasize the run game, because we already have Pat Shurmer and Mark Whipple guiding Donny. Aside from 2 games, he has been better this year than he has since he played the superbowl, so Turner isnt gonna improve anything, unless we go with Kolb next year, which I dont see happening just yet.

true enough, franky - but the decisions are getting better and better over those 4 years, right? We're knocking on the door of another postseason. Our rookies and our FA accquisitions are playing very well. The bad decisions are getting phazed out of the gameplan. Decisions should have been made much sooner, I agree, but better late than never.

If we are going young then JJ should go to!!! Age has nothing to do with it has to do with competance. MM is incompetent at best. You work with your strength, forcing D Mac to throw 40-50 times a game is not our strength, as apparent on T-Giving!

NUUDZ: Quick information for you think about before I am having a bad day! 2006-2007 SAN FRANCISCO 49ers: 7-9 scored 298 pts, 4857 passing yds and 2172 rushing yds with Norv as O coord. San Fran sucks and has sucked worse w/o him at O cordinator. Norv is a top flight o coordinator, not a good decision maker has head coach. Those #s were with Alex Smith at Qb, where is he now......oh yeah watching on Sunday!

Nuudz... while I agree no front office can get everything right, the Giants did get enough decisions right to win the Super Bowl last year and be 11-1 this year. We got enough wrong to be .500 or maybe a hair over .500 for the past 3 and 3/4 seasons.

Ball Hawk: your off to a bad start today. No to turner now and for ever. As to Marty, if he balances the offense effectively for the next 4 games, with Reid sitting faaaaar away from a play chart . . . he's our OC. If not, we should go a bit younger than Turner. Garrett and Spags are both very unrealistic in any capacity, and some of you morons need to get your rightguard right because you reek of desperation.

7up: I think your just a lil over the top. Letting go of Wilson was a stupid move at the time, because Klecko ahd been moved to defense and Hunt was undersized as a fullback. That move cost us JR Reed, who deserved to stay over guys like hunt and schoebel and Glew. The fullback position is pretty good right now, since Klecko has been allowed to get settled at the position. Tracy White has had some immediate impact on special teams, and ST play overall has improved since he has joined the team, so he has been a positive move. Tank Daniels . . . bust, agreed. Studabaker is a big loss, but we have enough at linebacker to make that loss insignificant, and I wont be surpised to see another late round linebacker in the upcoming draft. Clemons has had 3 or 4 back to back strong games, so he is definitely worth keeping. No FO is gonna get every call right, otherwise New York woulda dumped Shockey years ago.

Turner as O coordinator would be GREAT!!! Look at the Boys when he was there, look at San Diego a yr ago! Turner struggles as a head coach. Finally forget Bradley, if our D line CAN'T control the line of scrimmage and slow Jacobs up before he gets a head of steam we are in trouble. LASTLY: RUN THE BALL WITH THE SAME BALANCE AS THANKSGIVING!!!!

Wow, what do you know, another game holding our breath to see if LJ Smith shows up. He should wear a ski mask over his face when he plays cause he robbed us of 8 million dollars. Thats the only reason the man is on the field right now. Real1Up the man making these lovely personnel decisions is none other than Mr. " I Don't Know How to Use my First Round Draft Pick", the Blunder of Blubber, Andy Reid. Norv Turner cannot win playoff games and is just not what we need. Marty Morningwhig is of the Andy Reid school of thought and should not be allowed anywhere near a front office when Andy is gone (Please take him Andy). Our offense has only suffered under his tenure as coordinator. Jason Garrett is getting paid BANK to stay in Dallas and if you think the Eagles are going to open up their purse strings for him... hahah i'll just leave it at that. The eagles would rather pay a no-namer no name money than pay big bucks for a big name. Either way, if he ain't Bill Cowher or Steve Spags, and it isn't the guy from the Giants taking over player personnel decisions, I think we are just taking a shot in the dark. Might work, might not.

!!!!!Dumbest 2008 Eagles Personnel Decisions !!!!! 1. Releasing TE/FB Kris Wilson. RESULT: Immediately Picked up by Chargers. This guy lead Larry Johnson to a 1000+ yard season last year so you know he can block. What are 2 of are huge offensive weaknesses? TE and FB blocking!!! Idiots! 2. Cutting DE/LB Andy Studebaker. RESULTS: Even Though he was on the practice squad for a few weeks he is now on the Chiefs active roster and I predict will be starting next year. This guy was the most athletic LB/DE we had by far. 40=4.60, 10=1.60, vert=37, conedrill=6.90. If you don't know, those numbers are as good or better than Vernon Gholston who went to the Jets with a Top 10 Pick. All this guy needed was time to develope to be the next great eagles linebacker because he is a Phenomeonlly hard worker. dope FO decides to bring in Tank Daniels and Tracy White. WTF!!!!!!!!!! Please Mr. Lurie, Fire who ever is making these stupid a** decisions. We can't afford to cut players of this calibur but keep Fing G. Lewis, Daniels, White, and Clemmons. These are not Tough Calls!
