Games On Net Rules
Games On Net has been established to provide our members and guests with a fun, friendly online gaming environment. Things that spoil the online gaming experience for others will not be tolerated on our network. Below you will find a baseline set of rules that should be adhered to whilst using our services.

Terms & Conditions - Standard Form Of Agreement
Use of the Games On Net network is subject to Internode's Standard Form Of Agreement and the Acceptable Use Policy held within that document.

Don't Cheat
People who cheat in online games are only cheating themselves. All cheating will get you is a permanent ban from the Games On Net network, no questions asked. Correspondence will seldom be entered into on this subject - just don't do it!

Be Nice
Other things can also be considered bad behaviour and, at the discretion of the Game Admins and Moderators, can also attract a permanent ban from the Games On Net network. Some examples, but by no means a complete list, include:
  • Racism
  • Excessive swearing or verbal abuse
  • Threatening or harassing other players
  • Impersonating Admins, Internode staff, or anyone else you shouldn't
  • Using names that others may find offensive
  • Failing to comply with an Admins directive
  • Spamming our forums with posts or threads
  • Unsanctioned advertising (check with forum Admins before posting)
  • Posting links to websites that attempt to hijack, or that may have detrimental effects to other forum user's computers
  • Posting abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or other material that may violate applicable laws
Specific Game Rules
The majority of games on our network have a specific rule set developed by both the community and our Admin team. These rules can be found as an "announcement" in the games respective forum. In addition to the above mentioned rules, the following additional examples apply to all games on our network:
  • Cheating
  • Intentional team killing
  • Microphone or text spamming
  • Offensive player names
  • Linking or making specific references to cheat, pornographic, shock, or inappropriate websites via in game text or player names
These rules, as with the above general Games On Net rules, must also be adhered to at all times.

Penalties and appeals
If you break our rules, you will be penalised!

While in the majority of cases an Admin will, or attempt to warn you that your actions are unacceptable, in some cases a ban will be issued instantly and will apply across all like servers. This is in the case of such rules as, but not limited to:
  • Cheating
  • Racism
  • Admin impersonation
  • Linking or making specific references to cheat, pornographic, shock, or inappropriate websites via in game text or player names
The correct method of appeal is through Games On Net and not Internode directly - requests sent to Internode will be directed back to Games On Net. More information can be found on the Ban Appeal and Information page or in our FAQ.

Social vs Competitive Match play
Online gaming can be a fun social activity but can also be a challenging and competitive sport. We encourage competition amongst players on the Games On Net network, but please remember that our servers are open to the public so unfair team stacking, or "owning", by clans beating up on social players is considered bad form.

If you are interested in arranging competitive matches between a specific group of friends or clans, by all means, start a discussion in our Clan Chat forum and ask a Moderator or Game Admin if they can arrange a private match. Our old bookable war servers are currently unavailable, but in some circumstances allowances may be made on our public servers for a community match to be conducted.
