Having transitioned into a more grown-up sound, Beyoncé has gotten conceptual on us: Her third album offers two discs, a collection of heartfelt ballads credited to Beyoncé and a danceable set credited to "Sasha Fierce," the pop diva's more brash, lady-empowering alter ego. Though some of the slow songs have thoroughly memorable tunes, the lyrics are full of bland self-affirmation and saggy lines like "You're everything I thought you never were." But the "Sasha" disc boasts Beyoncé's most adventurous music yet: She rides frothy techno on "Radio," turns out modal-sounding hooks over 808 bass on "Diva" and juices the eerie, Nine Inch Nails-style beats of "Video Phone" with lines like "Press 'record' and I'll let you film me." Another plus: The girl who blew up going all melismatic has never sung with more restraint than she does on Sasha.

About time she stopped singing like an Xstina clone.

This album is a very ambitious effort. Just like the rest of all Beyonce`s records, she refuses to mold a "sound" and instead she reaches for the stars. She always nails it!

You know, I'm not gonna say whether this is a great album because you won't see a Beyonce album on my i-Pod, and I have no idea how her previous albums are in comparison. But my review isn't on the album content, it's of the shitty sound quality. I'm an audio engineer. This sounds like shit. Whoever mixed this turd needs to be shot! Made my ear-hairs fall out..

This CD is timeless. I really liked her earlier CD's...but this one is just a masterpiece like some of you have mentioned.

I bought the DIVA Deluxe Version and I was totally surprised that the songs were not just space fillers.

I am extremely proud of the growth in both her voice and her content....the sound is a Beyonce sound...nothing out there sounds like it and I really respect that.

One of the hightlights on the albums is the song "Dissapear"...that song just speaks to me... I don't know if it will do well on the charts...but as an avid music lover...this song is one of the best of this year.

Broken Hearted Girl is another favorite of mine...I can really relate to this song...its what I have felt for a few years...so now I have a theme song :)

My favorite songs are:

1. Dissapear
2. Broken-Hearted Girl
3. Single Ladies
4. Radio
5. Halo/Diva (It's a tie!)

I hope people stop judging Beyonce by her pop status...this CD is so much deeper that her earlier stuff and I honestly respect her as an artist.

Please give this CD a chance...you won't be dissapointed... :)

I Am...Sasha Fierce is a whole new level of music created by Beyoncé, which I did not expect to see from her. The ballads have good commercial rhythm, although the lyrics are somewhat uninteresting and common. Her faster songs Diva, Radio, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) etc. maintain her original Beyoncé flavour for her fans and is something I admire :)

I bought the cd today for some strange reason just because as a dj i need it but hopefully she will put out some cool remixes to make up for the boring album cuts.

I don't know why she needs to take on this "Fierce" persona to sing this crap, but whatever.
