What is Manga Life?
It's the newest offshoot of Silver Bullet Comics, dedicated to MANGA news, reviews and features. When SBC decided to cover manga, we decided that rather than just dedicate a small portion of the website to it, it needed to be done properly - a fully fledged, 100% manga site, with dedicated writers. Our aim is to guide you through the masses of manga appearing on the shelves of your book store, to pick out THE essential books to own.

Can I get involved?
You certainly can. Every writer at Manga Life appreciates reader contact and feedback. There is an opportunity to post your comment on the bottom of each item - look for the link to COMMENTS. Plus we're always looking out for talented new reviewers to join our team, just email us at info@mangalife.com and we'll tell you more.

Lifer Profiles:

Jason Brice
Jason Brice is mangalife’s publisher and web monkey – his favourites include Eagle: The Making of an Asian American President, Club 9, What's Michael, and Barefoot Gen.

Park Cooper
Park Cooper is the Editor-in-Chief of MangaLife.

He co-writes the column, "The Park and Barb Show", with his wife Barbara Lien-Cooper at www.comicsbulletin.com/pb. He also manages the creative studio Wicker Man Studios, is editor on the Panel2Panel comic Gun Street Girl, and is co-writer of HALF DEAD, the graphic novel that was co-published in March 2007 by Dabel Brothers Productions and Marvel Comics but is now available for order from Diamond through Desperado. He is also editor-in-chief of Septagon Studios Inc. His favorite manga and anime are, not exactly in this order: GTO, COWBOY BEBOP, FLCL, FRUITS BASKET, NARUTO, THE DREAMING, ATELIER MARIE, EAGLE, AZUMANGA DAIOH, TRIGUN, MASTER KEATON...

He is the co-writer of THE HIDDEN(http://www.tokyopop.com/product/2655/TheHidden/1), a manga pilot in TOKYOPOP's Pilot Program. Interview here: (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080626-TokyoPop3.html)

James Hanrahan
James Hanrahan is half Japanese and spent most of his childhood on US military bases in Japan for the last half of the 1970s to the early 1980s. He saw quite a lot of classic anime, current at the time, and older shows in syndication as well. Every weekend his dad or mom would take him to the bookstore where he would get not only manga to look at but bilingual editions of classic American comics and newspaper strips and would practice his reading. Returning to the US, he became involved with the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization in San Antonio Texas, which circulated fan tapes of anime across the US. James became a professional comic writer in the late 1980s while still in high school and continued to write small pieces for independent publishers for years. Currently he is preparing some webcomics but is thrilled at how manga and anime have boomed across the world.

Joy Kim
Joy Kim blames Fullmetal Alchemist and Saiyuki for her ongoing anime and manga addiction. She works as a public librarian and also counts After School Nightmare, Fruits Basket, Honey and Clover, Naruto, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, and xxxHolic among her favorite series. She wishes that US companies would license more of the interesting manhwa that she's seen in Korea. Her website is located at joykim.net.

Barb Lien-Cooper
Writer/creator of GUN STREET GIRL (http://www.wickermanstudios.com/comics/gsg/gsg-archives.html), of Marvel Comics'/Dabel's/Desperado's HALF DEAD, manga adapter (Viz and Tokyopop) and editor (Del Rey Manga), columnist, former Managing Editor of print magazine COMIC BOOK ARTIST, and more. She is also the co-writer of THE HIDDEN, (http://www.tokyopop.com/product/2655/TheHidden/1) a manga pilot in TOKYOPOP's Pilot Program. Interview here: (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080626-TokyoPop3.html)

Ysabet Reinhardt MacFarlane
Ysabet Reinhardt MacFarlane reads, reviews, and adapts manga, and from time to time even does things that have nothing at all to do with manga or anime. Her favorite manga is Fruits Basket, but she's found room in her heart for other things, like NANA, Fullmetal Alchemist, Monster, Saiyuki, Hoshi wa Utau, Evangelion, and xxxHOLiC. Her list of credits and occasionally-updated blog can be found at http://www.catnamedsegue.wordpress.com.
