WEIRD BUT TRUE

This guy's life on the outside must really suck.

A Kentucky inmate who escaped from prison returned later that day - and pleaded with guards to be let back in.

Chad Toy, 21, told police his family urged him to surrender because they feared for his safety.

He said he immediately regretted running out the open prison door during a work detail.

"I'm sorry about what I did," he said.

We know that local governments are strapped for cash, but come on.

The town of Attleboro, Mass., has threatened to put a lien on a 74-year-old blind woman's house for an overdue water bill of just 1 cent.

Eileen Wilbur said she was especially angry when she considered the town had spent 42 cents on the stamp to send her the notice.

The town says the notice was sent in error.

In the end, this thief just didn't have a leg to stand on.

A paraplegic held up a Florida bank in his motorized wheelchair, and then stuffed the cash into his prosthetic leg.

But he hadn't gotten far when cops caught up with him about 10 minutes later.

Oh, the tragic irony.

A woman who bought a Hummer with cash she got when the father of her children was killed by a drunken driver has been charged with killing two people - while driving drunk.

Yvonne Sinclair, 29, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., faces up to 15 years in prison.

Was it a club?

A 19-year-old Florida man was charged with battery for hitting his girlfriend in the face with a sandwich while she drove him home.

The blow was so hard, it knocked the victim's glasses off and almost caused her to lose control of the car.
