"The democratic socialist vision does not rest upon one sole tradition; it draws upon Marxism, religious and ethical socialism, feminism, and other theories that critique human domination."

According to archives from the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America website, Sen Barack Obama attended organizational meeting for the Chicago New Party and actively sought their endorsement in his bid for the Illinois Senate. In an account written by Bruce Bentley:

About 50 activists attended the Chicago New Party membership meeting in July. The purpose of the meeting was to update members on local activities and to hear appeals for NP support from four potential political candidates. The NP is being very active in organization building and politics. There are 300 members in Chicago. In order to build an organizational and financial base the NP is sponsoring house parties. Locally it has been successful both fiscally and in building a grassroots base. Nationwide it has resulted in 1000 people committed to monthly contributions. The NP's political strategy is to support progressive candidates in elections only if they have a concrete chance to "win". This has resulted in a winning ratio of 77 of 110 elections. Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.

The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado, chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcia's District; and Barack Obama, chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmer's vacant seat.

Michael Chandler thanked the NP for its support in his electoral victory. His achievements to date included obtaining an increase of 30 police in the 24th Ward, citizen involvement in street clean-up and establishment of a 24th Ward Organization. William Delgado is exploring whether to run for State Rep in the 3rd District. He is a former social worker and spoke with compassion and dynamism. He considers himself a community activist who wants to be an advocate for change in the community. His presence in political office would be a benefit to the democratic left.

Indeed it was an exciting evening because the NP has two crucial components. First, the NP is a true "Rainbow Coalition" consisting of both young and aged African-Americans, Hispanics and Caucasians. Although ACORN and SEIU Local 880 were the harbingers of the NP there was a strong presence of CoC and DSA (15% DSA). Moreover a good 8% were younger Generation X'ers who are critically needed. A more diverse representation of Labor is missing. Secondly, the NP is taking "action." Four political candidates were "there" seeking NP support. The NP is strategically organizing via house parties and tactically entering only elections that they can win. Furthermore they are organizing a campaign on the "Living Wage Ordinance" in the Chicago City Council.

Note that, in addition to Sen Obama, our good friends of ACORN and SEIU were both present and prominent. Cozy little group.

Sen Obama has insisted that he was never a member of the New Party. Does this, or should this, matter to an American public more centered on Hope and Change, and less on actual public policy? The short answer is YES! The long answer follows.

The first time I heard rumors that Sen Obama's sudden cessation of campaigning and rush to his grandmother's side in Hawaii had less to do with family and more to do with litigation, I was skeptical. The Berg v Obama lawsuit seemed incredible on the surface of it. How in the world could a candidate make it all the way through the primary season without being vetted as to his eligibility for office?

On October 1, TMR reported on a NewsMax article by Keith Timmerman that pointed out the potential for massive fundraising fraud in the Obama Campaign. From that report:

A Newsmax analysis of the 1.4 million individual contributions in the latest master file for the Obama campaign discovered 1,000 separate entries for Mr. Good Will, most of them for $25.

In total, Mr. Good Will gave $17,375.

Following this and subsequent FEC requests, campaign records show that 330 contributions from Mr. Good Will were credited back to a credit card. But the most recent report, filed on Sept. 20, showed a net cumulative balance of $8,950, still well over the $4,600 limit.

The numbers for Mr Pro are even more questionable.

Similarly, a donor identified as Pro, Doodad, from Nando, NY, gave $19,500 in 786 separate donations, most of them for $25. For most of these donations, Mr. Doodad Pro listed his employer as 'Loving' and his profession as 'You,' just as Good Will had done.

But in some of them, he didn't even go this far, apparently picking letters at random to fill in the blanks on the credit card donation form. In these cases, he said he was employed by VCX and that his profession was VCVC.

Following FEC requests, the Obama campaign began refunding money to Doodad Pro )in February 2008. In all, about $8,425 was charged back to a credit card. But that still left a net total of $11,165 as of Sept. 20, way over the individual limit of $4,600.

Jack Cashill is an Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter and novelist who has written for The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine and The Weekly Standard. He is a regular contributor to WorldNet Daily.

Cashill has done an exhaustive comparison of Dreams From My Father, the literary coming-out party of Barack Obama, and Fugitive Days, the terrorist memoir of Weatherman founder - turned Academician William Ayers. The two memoirs bear such striking similarities that they appear to have been written by the same person.

Since it is highly unlikely that Sen Barack Obama wrote both, the obvious conclusion would be that Ayers worked closely with Obama in ghostwriting the latter's book. This would seem to put a lie to the fact that Sen Obama hardly knew Ayers, but would suggest, along with the other mounting evidence that the two had a long-standing and obviously close relationship.

There was a moment in last Friday's debate when Sen John McCain held up his wrist and told the audience that he was given that bracelet by the family of Cpl Mathew Stanley, and that he would not allow Cpl Stanley's sacrifice to be in vain.

Sen Obama immediately interrupted Sen McCain, pointing out that he too wore a bracelet to honor a fallen hero, then as he flailed for words, deftly held the bracelet up to read the name off the bracelet.

That moment in time, better than anything else during the debate, captured the differences between the two candidates. Substance over style, Sen McCain demonstrates why he connects with the people, while Sen Obama appears aloof and uninvolved, unable even to remember the soldier he presumably honors.

Just a few thoughts on the the Conservative Leadership Conference and Blogworld Expo this weekend in Las Vegas.

With the pick of Joe Biden the Obama campaign has managed to put Delaware into play and all of its Electoral Votes. Biden all but guarantees that Obama will win that state.

Wow! I am breathless with the boldness of this move.

It will certainly require the McCain campaign to go back and rethink its nominee -- someone who could possibly counteract the Joementum that this pick will generate.

I wonder of Bob Keeshan is still alive?

With the addition of Sen Joe Biden to the ticket, the campaign is looking for a new slogan that encompasses the theme of the whole ticket. These are slogans presently being considered.

In perusing the web this morning, I came across this headline, Obama's Campaign Admits Obama is a Muslim!!!!! My first thought was that I had somehow missed an important news story. So, I clicked on the site.

There I learned that during David Axelrod's August 1 appearance on Good Morning America, during which he "did" admit that Sen Obama had brought up the issue of race with his comments about not looking like the other presidents on the dollar bill, he also admitted that Sen Obama is a Muslim.

Writing in the Evening Standard, in a piece entitled Barack Obama's broken promise to African village David Cohen last week detailed a promise made by Barack Obama to the village of Kogelo in Kenya.

More than two years ago, traveling to the village of his 86-year old Kenyan step-grandmother, Barack Obama promised to come to the aid of the school named in his honor. As of this date, he has failed to meet that promise. As the story now becomes public knowledge, Obama will certainly decide to act.

Today, I watched for the second time, a clip prominently running on CNN [the satellite is out to Fox News] in which a woman asks the senator why he voted against a bill that would have provided funding for birth control?

Sen McCain is clearly at a loss for words, having been confronted about a vote he has cast -- one out of thousands -- and stumbles through a non-response. The clip, predictably stops in mid-speech, leaving the impression that the senator is unable to muster any answer at all.
