The requirement for Chaplains in the modern Navy is as great today as at any time in the past. The Ministry of Defence has recruited Civilian Chaplains to provide for the spiritual needs of its personnel who belong to Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and Jewish faith groups, but continues to recruit Chaplains from the following Christian denominations:
- Church of England
- Church of Scotland and other Presbyterian Churches
- Roman Catholic Church
- Methodist Church
- The Baptist Church
- Congrational Church
Where will I be ministering?
- At sea on a major warship
- On a number of smaller ships
- At a Naval Base with a large number of families, thousands of civilian workers and many ships alongside
- In a training establishment, working with young people
- With the Royal Marines and the Submarine Service (male clergy)
