What is Gameplanet?

Gameplanet was created with the vision of bringing to New Zealanders a place where you can play games, buy games, talk games and meet gamers.

Achievements

Gameplanet Forums is possibly the largest Internet user community of its kind in New Zealand, with over 30,000 registered members (and growing). The site is a focal point for gaming in NZ, providing a place for discussion of a wide range of games and topics, and acts as a meeting place for gamers and gaming teams.

Gameplanet Store is one of New Zealand's top ecommerce sites, and possibly the number one NZ business-to-consumer etail site by traffic. Gameplanet Store has consistently ranked the number one site in Hitwise's Video and Games Shopping category since Hitwise began recording. Gameplanet Store began life as "GameZone Online" in 1996, making it also one of NZ's longest-running ecommerce sites. Gameplanet Store now also has operations in Australia.

Awards

Gameplanet was judged winner of the "Best Youth Site" category two years running in the NetGuide Web Awards 2002 and 2003, and was a finalist in 2004. The site was also nominated a finalist in the "Best Entertainment Site" category in the NetGuide Web Awards 2003 and 2004.

Gameplanet Store was winner of the "Best E-tail Site" category in the NetGuide Web Awards 2004, and was a finalist in 2002 and 2003.
