THE HEROIC DUO OF Rachet and Clank have been around a while, saving countless planets, races from extinction and rescuing the odd damsel in distress. With that hard work under their belts the duo finally decide to settle down at home for some much needed R&R. However trouble is never too far away as the duo now find themselves the centre of an invasion in, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is the 6^th instalment in a series that has been enjoyed by many and across the various PS consoles and Handhelds. Not only is Tools of Destruction its 6^th instalment, but it will also be its first onto the PS3 platform.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction sees the heroic duo being chased down by the Cragmites who are dead set on eliminating the races known as Lombax. It just so happens that Ratchet is the last of the Lombax and what they first thought was an invasion, was actually a full scale attack with Ratchet being the primary target.

The conflict dates back many years, however the current breed of Cragmites have ignited the age old conflict and have set their eyes on destroying Ratchet. The heroic duo manage to escape and now set off once again on an adventure like no other, in a bid to save his own life and unlock the secrets of his people and the conflict that have cost many Lombax.

Tools of Destruction release to PS3 will be a bonus for many who love the series. Ratchet & Clank latest adventure looks set to embrace and fully use the power of the PS3 to deliver a much greater experience. Characters and planets have been given a bit of an overhaul to give the game more life and make a clearer distinction between places and people you will come across.

One feature however remains largely unchanged, its controls. However the controls have always been good and easy to use, so why really change something has worked for so long. It makes gameplay a lot easier and a bit more free flowing than if you had to string together a few combo's. The developers have added the use of SIXAXIS to the controls allowing for missiles to be guided directly into unsuspecting foes. Its not a great change, but just adds a bit more to gameplay and offers another way of attacking.
