WHAT HAS IT GOT in its pocketses, hmmm? My precious - the one ring to rule them all? Nope, something much more fun... in fact a whole pocket of cool-looking fun. We take a peek at the new Game Boy Micro.

With vital statistics measuring a tiny 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall, 0.7 inches deep and only 2.8 ounces in weight, this little gem is the next must-have in wearable technology. Don't be fooled though - under the slim, chic exterior lurks a fully functional Game Boy Advance. This little baby can play all of the 700 titles in the vast Game Boy Advance library.

Apart from its micro size, the most stunning feature of the unit is its ultra-bright screen. This little two-inch beauty allows you to play your games of choice in most lighting conditions, remaining razor sharp and crystal clear. The unit also sports a feature from its distant cellphone cousins, with neon-blue backlit Start and Select buttons.

Like all essential techno fashion accessories it comes in a platinum silver finish with black trim, however other colours are available (currently black and blue); and with optional face plates you'll be able to customise the units appearance. There's a rad camouflage makeover to match your street gear, or for a funky party look you can opt for butterfly pink.

This unit is truly a handheld console for those on the go. It will sit nicely in your top pocket or handbag, ready for those times when it's most needed (on the bus, at those boring business meetings or lengthy lectures). The ability to play all the existing Game Boy Advance titles gives the Game Boy Micro a ready market for fans of the original unit who want a pocket-sized 'fashion' upgrade.

The Game Boy Micro will be available from 3rd November.

Features include:

  • Game Boy Micro measures a mere four inches wide, two inches tall and 0.7 inches deep, allowing it to sit comfortably alongside today's hippest technological gadgets.

  • It weighs an astonishing 2.8 ounces, yet Game Boy Micro has the same processing power and plays the same games as Game Boy Advance SP models.

  • A removable face plate gives you the option to buy replacements to customise the look of your system with new colors and designs.

  • Game Boy Micro's two-inch backlit screen shines with incredible power, rendering games in startling clarity with fantastic colors on the best Game Boy screen ever. For the first time, you can adjust the brightness of the screen to adapt to indoor lights or outdoor sunshine.
