by Jon Valjean

We've just received word from BlizzCon that StarCraft II will in fact be released as a trilogy.

The singleplayer campaign for each race (Terran, Zerg and Protoss) will be released separately, however players will have access to all races in multiplayer. The releases will be referred to as follows;

  • Terran: Wings of Liberty
  • Zerg: Heart of the Swarm
  • Protoss: Legacy of the Void.

There will be a side campaign in the Terran release that will follow Zeratul which deals with the larger story of the Xel'Naga. The releases will also be staggered.

More information will be published as soon as it comes to hand. In the meantime, check out the new images released today;
