Don't cry for Dollhouse, Whedonistas. Despite the production shutdown first reported by Korbi (or as we like to call her, the prodigal sister-wife), I'm hearing things aren't as doom and gloom in Joss Whedon's world as some are suspecting.

"They just need a little time to make sure they're on the right track," says one inside source who works on the series. "Joss takes this show very seriously."

While shut downs can signal serious trouble, they also happen much more frequently than you might realize—to some of the biggest shows. As previously reported, 24 is also closed for the moment as Howard Gordon reasseses the storyline, and ABC insiders tell me that even Alias and Desperate Housewives have paused production in the past—we just didn't hear about it—as well as, more recently, Dirty Sexy Money.

Meanwhile, for you fans who are curious about what Whedon's latest foray into the idiot box is all about, we caught up with Dollhouse's stars at the Fox premiere party to get the inside skinny...

Way to get my hopes up, Star magazine! The outlet reported this morning that Lisa Edelstein (Dr. Lisa Cuddy on Fox's House) is pregnant. This got be unreasonably excited, because if Lisa is pregnant, that means the writers very well might make Cuddy pregnant.

But alas, Lisa's rep tells me that Star's report is not true, and that Lisa Edelstein is not pregnant. According to her publicist, "Perhaps she'll be pregnant one of these days, but not yet. Not sure where the rumor began, but it's not true."

My dreams of House being Cuddy's sperm donor are once again cruelly dashed. We do know that this season on House, Cuddy will be canoodling with the new private investigator character, and there are persistent rumors that Dr. Allison Cameron will be pregnant this year (which I will be grilling Jennifer Morrison and the writers about tomorrow when I visit the set, believe you me).

Looks like yet another pretty face is coming to the code: The CW confirms that Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield, Life Is Wild) will be joining the CW's 90210 on Oct. 7 as a recurring character who gets romantic with one of the male series regulars.

Lucas will play Kimberly, a smart, snarky transfer student who hooks up with the gang at West Beverly but who is withholding a secret.

Now, to the important question: With whom with Kimberly hook up? Not Ethan Ward (Dustin Milligan), because I believe he is going to have his hands full with one of show's leading ladies around the time Jessica joins the cast.

Yes, I sort of quoted a Britney song in the title of this item. Well, technically the line is "I'm Mrs. Extra! Extra! This just in!" but I always hear "I'm Mrs. Extra-Dexter-licious." Because, well, I'm sort of deaf. And possibly crazy, and definitely a teenybopper at heart. But moving on...

Dexter. I recently had the pleasure of interviewing show runner Clyde Phillips about what's to come when the series returns for season three on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. on ye olde Showtime, and while I can't tell you about the Very Big Reveal in the season premiere, I can share a bit about the introduction of Jimmy Smits (who joins the cast full-time this season), Dexter's state of mind and what characters might finally get some decent action this season.

Heroes is back!

The Sprint-MySpace Heroes season-three premiere party was last night in downtown L.A. at the Edison club, and let's just say they went all out.

Save It or Sink It is back! SOS will be making select appearances throughout the fall season in honor of certain special show premieres like, say, tonight's launch of True Blood.

In case you missed my Sunday previews, True Blood is HBO's latest drama. It comes from the big brain of Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball, it's based on the fun Sookie Stackhouse series of books, and most important of all: It's all about vampires!
