The BAFTAs are coming, the BAFTAs are coming! Well—oops—they actually came earlier today and doled out some deliciously British-flavored awards. So, who were the big winners and losers?

Bad, Bad Men!  Best-actor types Daniel Day-Lewis and Javier Bardem killed the competition and threw them into a pool of oil and malignity.

Distressed Damsels!  The lovely Marion Cotillard won Best Actress for her rich portrayal of singer Edith Piaf, while Tilda Swinton rocked the house with her portrayal of Michael Clayton's slimy corporate lawyer.

Shia!  Unlike the Oscars, the BAFTAs aren't afraid to anoint the young with the fame stick, and this year they bestowed the hotness that is Shia LaBeouf with a Rising Star nod.

Other People!  Seriously, the Coen brothers, Atonement and Diablo Cody all won awards!

Who strutted their stuff on the red carpet at the BAFTAs? Well, we have photographic proof of some of the highs (Bardem!) and lows (Swinton!), and offer you a look in our arrivals gallery.

Hey, good news: In a potentially superdry awards season, it looks like we'll be getting at least one more night of glitzy gowns and guys in tuxes rambling with statues in their hands.

Feeding a glam-starved public, this weekend's Orange British Academy Film Awards—aka the BAFTAs—is set to have a big, big year.

"We've got every American network on the red carpet," Amanda Berry, Academy big shot, recently gloated to the press. "We've got Ryan Seacrest, who is a huge presenter, coming over to do the E! coverage of the event" (hey, we know that guy), along with the U.K.’s very own Emma Griffiths and Matt Willis.

What's usually a very Eurocentric event has picked up some of the sheen the Golden Globes had to shed (thanks, writers' strike!). Daniel Day-Lewis, Keira Knightley and James McAvoy—all British, all coming. Joel and Ethan Coen, Viggo Mortensen, Javier Bardem, Samantha Morton and more—also on their way.

Now, the bad news: George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Tommy Lee Jones, Laura Linney and Ellen Page—all up for awards, all not coming. Oh, bloody hell, it'll be a good show anyway.

Tired of hearing about old men and the country that's not for them? Well, the Orange British Academy Film Awards aren't going to help you out there, sorry!

But at least this year's juggernaut noms—Atonement, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men—have to share the show with some more unusual suspects.

We especially dig the Best British Film category (wherein The Bourne Ultimatum faces off against Control, pictured above), and the Rising Star Award, which pits Shia LaBeouf against Sienna Miller and Lust, Caution's Tang Wei.
