How you can help

Genealogy is about finding our place in history and connecting our lives with the lives of those who have come before and those yet to come. It is a deeply personal journey and we work hard to bring you a dedicated staff of genealogists to help you in your research. In order to deliver this personal attention and these kinds of services, we need your support. Please consider making a gift to NEHGS today.

Why your gift is important

Donations account for 60% of our annual operating budget. Gifts to the Annual Appeal and other special projects are responsible for picking up where membership dues leave off. The real cost of a $75 Research Membership is around $275! It is friends like you who help make up the difference by making a Tax-deductible contribution to support the Society’s mission to collect, preserve, interpret and make accessible the histories of families in America.

Your Thoughts

“My assets and income are moderate, but I like to feel I can help a few organizations that stand strongly for the splendid country my ancestors helped to found…Bless you for your part in it”

“I feel that I must reward the Society for having such great people on their staff. I am enclosing a check for $100 and wish that it could be more. I do hope that it will help in some small way.”

“This gift is just our way of saying thank you! The information you all provided me was very thorough and well researched. It helped considerably in our research efforts.”

Preserving New England's Records Initiative

To ensure the proper preservation of important documents, records and family papers, we have initiated Preserving New England's Records, a multi-year preservation project headed by Dr. Ralph J. Crandall, Executive Director Emeritus of the Society.
