Gamer's Hell

If you're into tennis, or sports games in general, this game is a must have! It's addictive, easy to pick up yet hard to master and plays like a dream.

As far as conversions go, Top Spin is rather splendid.

Granted, you won't get the feel that it's a new game in any great way, but Top Spin's currently the apex of PC tennis sims to date. [Christmas 2004, p.109]

Computer and Video Games

Whereas Virtua Tennis scored through its simplicity, Top Spin requires a degree of both mental and manual dexterity, employing no less than six different buttons for various types of shot.

The gameplay is hampered by the complex combination of keys required to master all the shots, and a manual that may as well have been written in Russian.

The game is very enjoyable although it needs to be updated because some of the best players aren't on there and I don't think that's very good but I still love the game and I always will.

Really Good Game, could be faster, but it's the best tennis simmulator.

As far as PC tennis games, its the best. The AI of the more difficult players is questionable as they seem to be able to read whether you are hitting it to their backhand or forehand before you even hit the ball. It is the type of game you want to play against a friend, and multiplayer gives you that ability. Risk shots are your best friend once you master their timing. Graphics are incredible even two years after release. The crowd claps in sync but you won't notice it much. Create-a-player is fantastic, almost as good as the Tiger Woods game. Only thing that would make the game the best of all time is some upgraded AI and a commentator like John McEnroe.
