Entertainment Weekly
It's a nice run of numbers that really gets going with 'Shelf,' an impassioned advisory not to leave the singers' hearts in the titular location. [15 Aug 2008, p.64]

All Music Guide
The key to its success is that it is pitched perfectly between frivolous, disposable pop and meticulous mature craft, so as the Jonas Brothers continue to grow they might wind up losing that sense of fun that is integral to their music, but with this record they hit all the notes just right.

Rolling Stone
The boys' fantastic third album is steeped in the fuzzed-up guitars, three-part harmonies and cotton-candy choruses of Big Star and Cheap Trick.

Yes, the Jonases are squishy, vanilla and too sweet. But so is an ice-cream cone. And ice-cream cones are freakin’ delicious. Especially when they come with a cherry on top.

Hartford Courant
The trio's new wave-inspired songs may be derivative--and sometimes too derivative, as on the corny, Cars-lite opener, 'B.B. Good'--but they simply sound fresher.

Billboard
It's unfortunate that much of their sophomore effort is submerged in an ocean of heavy-handed production, so deep that the boys' natural talents struggle to break the surface.

Boston Globe
Luckily, the New Jersey trio also continues to bolster its puppy-love perspective with an increasingly substantial brand of power pop that grows more palatable to the general population with each release.

Los Angeles Times
The Jonases show more vulnerability with such numbers as the mid-tempo, yearning love song 'Shelf' and the title ballad, with its plaintive vocals and subtle touches of piano and strings. Still, the album is mostly a bland gloss, offering no depth or cleverness in material that covers familiar territory.

Village Voice
Too many of these songs get bogged down in chord changes and lyrics likely to sound worn-out even to a 10-year-old.

Slant Magazine
Even if it stands to be one of the year's biggest sellers (which it most assuredly will be), Longer is hard to envision as an album that will allow the Jonas Brothers to transcend their place in this teen-pop cycle.

Selena J. gave it a10:
Each dong on this album has a great beat and lyrics that really mean something, they are not just another sugar coated pop group, these boys really have some talent. The youngest brother Nick once again blows minds with his exceptional voice. I give this album a 10 out of 10. I most definately cannot stop listening.

Dylan D. gave it a0:
These guys are boring and repetitive. The definition of one hit wonders, and they are lucky to get that one hit.

Grant C. gave it a0:
Terrible music. No other way to describe it.

Princess V. gave it a10:
Their CD Rocks!!!! I love their music and not just because they're hot. I love the song A Little Bit Longer. I think it is definitely worth buying!

Harris K. gave it a0:
These guys plain suck. Their songs are boring and repetative. The lead singer puts way too much strain in his voice. They're only big because of their looks.

Kristine H. gave it a10:
FANTASTIC! nice vibe good beats sweet lyrics hot boys!! love it very clever.

Mrs. N. gave it a10:
