LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy's entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run. Pop culture's most iconic archeologist whips through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the LEGO Star Wars games. [LucasArts]

Worth Playing
Without a doubt, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is a worthy addition to the witty and entertaining LEGO gaming franchise. Once you are comfortable using the occasionally awkward PC keyboard controls or preferably hooking up a game controller, you will quickly become immersed in the game's addictive gameplay.

Lego Indiana Jones enables you to play through the story of the first three movies. Fans will enjoy legendary scenes like the escape from the stone sphere, the roller coaster ride in a mine lorry or the motorboat chase in Venice. The game is a good mix of jump and run, action and riddles, but suffers a bit because of problems with the camera and AI. It's the third Lego game and these problems should have been solved by now. But it's still a lot of fun.

A little less brawl than in LEGO Star Wars and more brain exercise - this formula seems to work even better! It's one of the best platformers on the market, well worth the hours spent to find all three secret levels. [Aug 2008]

Despite the criticisms, it's as good as the last couple of Lego outings; slightly better, actually. It just lacks the novelty value. [July 2008, p.76]

I'm somewhat begrudgingly throwing this Indy the whip. [Sept 2008, p.68]

Familiar and frivolous, let down by respawning enemies spoiling the fun. And did we mention atrocious vehicles? [Aug 2008, p.96]
