The 2006 Electronic Business 300: Top companies ranked by electronics revenue
Our annual ranking of companies according to electronics revenue shows an industry that's alive and well, with double-digit growth in many sectors.
By Ben Beutler, Research Projects Editor; Introduction by Ed Sperling, Editor In Chief -- Electronic Business, 6/19/2007
Electronics companies continued their upward march in 2006, continuing a recovery and period of growth that has pushed the industry well past the level it reached during the 2000 bubble.
With few exceptions, annual growth rates since the 2001 downturn—the deepest in the electronics industry’s six-decade history—have been extremely healthy. And while the slowdown this year has kept analysts busy recalculating their numbers downward, the five-year annual growth numbers are more telling. The industry, as a whole, is alive and well, as evidenced by the continued market growth. In many cases, and in many sectors, double-digit annualized growth is the norm.
This survey is the result of an exhaustive look at all available data for companies. The table below presents the EB 300 along with 2006 calendar-year figures for revenue and net income. You can also view/download the complete EB 300 table (PDF), which includes a wealth of additional detail, such as fiscal-year figures, revenue per employee, and five-year CAGR.
