Manabu Namiki decided to combine his passions of creating music and composing games after leaving high school and was eventually contracted on the Arcade's Super Space Fortress Macross in 1993. After working with Banpresto, NMK, and Jaleco on subsequent Arcade titles, he became an employee of Eighting / Raizing from 1995. Here, he created an iconic score to Battle Garegga and worked on the Bloody Roar series, Armed Police Batrider, and Brave Blade, meeting Hitoshi Sakimoto.

In 2000, Namiki started work as a freelancer, but decided to joined Sakimoto's game music company Basiscape when it was formed in 2002. He soon established a relationship with manic shooter developer score and created individually characterised electronic scores to DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou, Ketsui - Cutting the Bonds of Hell, DoDonPachi Zero, Mushihimesama, ESPGaluda II, Mushihimesama Futari, Death Smiles, and DoDonPachi Dai Fukkatsu on their behalf.

While at Basiscape, Namiki has also regularly contributed rock-based scores to fighting games such as the BLEACH Heat the Soul series. He has also used an orchestral palette on Metal Slug 6, took a novel approach on Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2, acted as a sound analyst for the Sega Ages 2500 series, and produced numerous arrangements for various album releases. Namiki is also active in the chiptune scene and occasioanlly contributes to doujin projects.
