Hiroki Kikuta is an influential composer and game producer that visual inspiration and musical expression. Having initially composer for two minor TV animations and produced sound effects for 1992's Romancing SaGa, Kikuta became one of Japan's most loved game composers after creating the simple yet inspired compositions for 1993's Secret of Mana. He returned to create the three disc score to Seiken Densetsu 3, the progressive rock-influenced arranged album Secret of Mana +

His score for Soukaigi was diverse and utilised live performances. He left Square due to dissatisfaction with their RPGs in 1998 to set up his own company, Sacnoth, and subsequently produced the horror game Koudelka, intended to revolutionise RPGs. The Koudelka project failed critically and financially because of internal frictions that left aspects of the gameplay flawed and Kikuta's vision for the project compromised. He subsequently resigned and went on to found Nostrillia.

In recent years, he worked on many aspects of the abandoned Chinese Square Enix MMORPG Bukyo. Following work on three hentai games, he returned to prominence by releasing a collection of lost works, creating a novel with an accompanying CD, and releasing the solo album Alphabet Planet. He has also recently worked on Square Enix's MMORPG Concerto Gate with Kenji Ito and is planning on releasing further albums under Nostrillia, aware of his fanbase.
