Musical Influences: Queen, Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden

Daisuke Ishiwatari is the designer of the Guilty Gear series. After a youth combining gaming, graphics design, and heavy metal, he joined SNK in 1997 to design two stages on their critically acclaimed fighting game The Last Blade. He subsequently led a number of SNK designers to form the development team Team Neo Blood intending to design a revolutionary new fighting game.

The resultant Guilty Gear offered a poignant story of man's fight against machines, gothic aesthetics, an incredible cast (including lead character Sol Badguy that Ishiwatari voice acted), extravagant character designs, challenging gameplay, and of course an unforgettable soundtrack. Ishiwatari's soundtrack has remained iconic for its melodic guitar-focused hard rock character themes.

With Guilty Gear X and Guilty Gear XX, Ishiwatari achieved critical and commercial success with multi-platform game releases and soundtrack releases alike. He has also overseen the production of vocal albums, drama CDs, concerts, art books, and spinoff titles. His latest Guilty Gear titles, Guilty Gear Isuka and Guilty Gear 2 Overture, have expanded the horizons of the series.
