Pukkelpop - Travel?

Is anyone going or has anyone been to Pukkelpop before? I'm going this year, flying into Eindhoven. Looking at trains from there to Hasselt, well, it looks a little awkward. If any body can shed some light on the best way to get from Eindhoven to the festival, that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

I'll help you out!

You have to go by train, from Eindhoven Station to Tilburg -> Roosendaal -> Essen (which is in Belgium). After that you have to take the train from Essen to Hasselt via Antwerpen Central.
I guess that's the only way by train.
One thing though: I advise you to buy a ticket in Holland to Essen and in Belgium a ticket to Hasselt. Because if you buy the ticket to Hasselt in Holland you have to pay an extra 3,50 euros. That's not that much, but still. But I don't know how much time you'll have on Essen Station to buy a ticket before the train departs (they often leave once per hour, so that's pretty shabby).
Oh and also, when you're a student you'll get a 30% reduction when you travel internationally, but only in Belgium. That's pretty nice, but I don't know if you are a student ^^
Here are the sites which you can plan your travel (the urls suck though):
Holland: http://ns.nl/cs/Satellite/ns2007/en/mainmenu/include/1193053691834/travelers?p=1193053691834
Internationally (not available in English): http://plannerint.b-rail.be/bin/query.exe/nn?L=ns_hispeed
There you go! ^^

Thank you very much Tael!

That's help me out loads.

There is free travel to and from

Pukkelpop once you're over the border into Belgium, so you'll only need a ticket to the first stop in Belgium.

You have to register for the free tickets, although I've yet to do any of that so can't explain it properly I'm afraid. This thread may be of some help though:

I'm flying into Charleroi, which I have heard can be a nightmare to travel from, on the Tuesday. Could anyone suggest an easy route from there to Hasselt, possibly with an overnight stop somewhere nice on the way? I'm probably looking to you here, Tael. You seem to have good knowledge on the subject :)

Thanks for that aswell al_la.

I knew about the free travel, I just needed a little bit more info on where I could actually get to in Belgium, from Holland, in order to validate my e-ticket train pass. Got it all booked and sorted now. So providing it all goes to plan, should be on site by 1pm on the Tuesday. Really looking forward to this.

ahhh, I had assumed

the site would only open on the Wednesday. May just try and get myself straight there.

I'm being retarded...

That was meant to say Wednesday.

Trains are a bit awkward

It's not so bad getting there from a large station. But last year we found it a right pain knowing which train to get back on. We flew last year, but getting the train from St Pancreas this time (£49ret)

Brilliant festival though, just hope the weather will be as kind as it was last year!

£49 return for the train?!

I didn't realise it was that cheap, otherwise that would have been a lot easier than having to get up for flights and stuff. Although we did manage to get out flights for £20 return, inc. taxes, so I can't whinge too much.

ditto this

getting the train on wednesday morning, cheap as chips plus you don't have all the airport faffing...

am really looking forward to this!
