Israel Police (hereafter – “the police”) offers information on an Internet information site
(hereafter – “the service”) and the user makes use of the service, subject to the following
conditions. As used below, the term “user” refers to any person creating a connection with or
accessing the service. Most of the site's content uses the masculine gender; this wording is
solely for convenience – everything written is directed to both males and females. |

Copyright |
|
Under Israeli copyright law, and according to international convention, the copyright for
police publications, including those published in this service, belongs to the state of Israel.
Among other things, this copyright applies to text, pictures, illustrations, maps, sound, video
clips, graphics, and software applications (hereafter – “the protected material”), unless it
is explicitly stated that the copyright for the protected material belongs to another party.
You are hereby entitled to make fair use of the protected material, according to the legally
stipulated rules. Fair use includes reasonable quotations from the material.
If you quote the protected material, you must state the source of the quotation, whether the
source is the police or another party. The user is forbidden to introduce distortions, defects,
or any other change in the protected material, or to take any other action reducing the value
of the protected material, or which is liable to harm the prestige or reputation of the
copyright owner.
Under copyright law, it is forbidden to copy, redistribute, rebroadcast, or publish protected
material, without the advance written consent of the police.

Liability |
|
The service is offered to the public as is.
The state of Israel will not bear the responsibility for adapting the service to the
users' needs.
The state of Israel will bear no liability for any damage caused to the user, or to
any third party, as a direct or indirect result of using the service. This applies to
damage caused as a result of relying on the information appearing in the service;
damage deriving from a temporary or permanent shutdown of the service; and damage
caused by use of software applications downloaded directly through the service, or operated
as a result of using the service, including Java, Active-X, and JavaScript applications.
Nor will the state of Israel bear any liability for inaccuracies or errors in the material
displayed in the service, nor for changes made by the user or any third party in the material
displayed in the service. The user will bear sole responsibility for his or her use of the service.
For purposes of this section “the state of Israel” includes its employees and representatives.

Validity of the information
|
|
The information changes no legal ruling or order, regulations, or other published orders
and official information. In the event of a contradiction between the information appearing
on the site and any legal order or official publication, the legal order or official
publication will take precedence.
Relying on the information displayed as part of the service cannot be used as grounds or
proof for any rights whatsoever, nor can the information on the site be relied on as
grounds for a right of any kind whatsoever.
The user is hereby warned against misuse of the information and the services offered as
part of the site. The user is hereby notified that the police are likely to use the
information that he or she sends, and that this use is liable to harm or cause damage
to persons affected by the information. The user is aware that if damage is caused to
the police or to a third party as a result of distorted, misleading, or erroneous
information of any kind whatsoever provided by him or her, the liability rests solely with
the user. The user is aware that the information delivered through the Internet is public
knowledge, and that access to this information, and its discovery by unauthorized parties,
cannot be prevented with certainty.

Links |
|
The service includes links to other sites, which are not owned by the state of Israel
(hereafter – “the other sites”). The links are intended solely for the user’s convenience,
and the state assumes no responsibility for the content of the other sites. Unless otherwise
noted, the state has no connection to the other sites, and has no legal relationship of any
kind whatsoever with the owners of these sites.
Links to the other sites should not be interpreted as a sign of authorization, approval,
recommendation, or preference on the part of the police for these other sites, including
the content appearing on the sites and/or the operators of the sites.

Use of the site |
|
It is hereby declared that any information given to the police that gives rise to suspicions
that a criminal act has been committed will be handled by the police at its professional
discretion. The police will handle such information according to the priorities of the units
responsible for dealing with the matter.
The decision whether to open an investigation, or whether to handle the information in a
different manner, will be taken according to the usual criteria used by the police.
The delivery of information through this site is not a substitute for filing a complaint
at either a police station, or the Ministry of Justice department for the investigation of
police officers, whichever is appropriate.
Anonymous information is usually assigned a low level of credibility, and given low priority.
The police are authorized to contact the person giving the information, and to ask him or her
for further particulars.
You are hereby warned not to misuse the information and the forms appearing on this site, or
in the service offered to you in this section.
You are aware that information reaching the police may cause the opening of a criminal
investigation, and may serve the police as grounds for exercising its authority, to the
detriment of a member of the public.
Giving false or misleading information under the circumstances stipulated by law is a
criminal offense.
In the section pertaining to appeals of traffic violations, it is hereby stated that an
inquiry made through the Internet does not constitute an “inquiry by registered mail” for
the purposes of regulations 42(b) and 42a (c) of the 5734-1974 Criminal Law Procedure Regulations,
and at any event does not constitute evidence proving the date of delivery or arrival of any request.
