Candles

Candles have long been used in association with the practice of magick and Witchcraft. Indeed, many religions and spiritual traditions use candles to help speed prayers and bring about change.

Candle magick is probably the oldest and simplest form of ritual magick still performed today. Ever since fire was first discovered by our ancestors, the naked flame has been regarded as sacred. A single flame is one of the easiest and most effective ways of focusing power and energy.

The use of magickal or "dressing" oils in conjunction with the color of candles symbolises the nature the intent of the spell or magickal work and can influence the outcome when properly coordinated. The color candle that is used for magick helps us to pinpoint our focus on the particular diety or goal that we wish to achieve.
