Welcome to GameSpot Game Night. Would you like to play a game?

Game Night is our weekly gaming event in which GameSpot users take on the editors in the ultimate struggle to determine who has the twitchiest trigger finger, the most effective strategy, and the fastest speed on the racetrack. Not only could you walk away with bragging rights, but you might even earn a fancy profile emblem to show for it.

Every Tuesday night, from 7pm to 9pm Pacific Time, we’ll host a multiplayer match. The games will change, the platforms will change, but one thing will be constant: the camaraderie that comes with playing games with great people that love games as much as you do. Game: GameSpot Game Night: We Need Your Help

Hi all! You may have noticed in the last month that GameSpot Game Night hasn't taken the center stage it once did. This is due to staff cuts that have injured our ability to keep steady with this particular feature. But we feel strongly about Game Night and have every intention of continuing this cherished tradition.

This is why we need the community's help. What I need is volunteers--folks who are willing to do any of the following tasks, and more:

Write FAQs

Update the Steam community calendar

Do pre-game or post-game write-ups

Send update for the Game Night page

Host multiplayer games or provide servers

What you do and how often is up to you, but with a few folks helping, we should be able to make game nights stronger than ever! If you are interested in giving the GameSpot team a hand, send me an email. Let me know what you are willing to do, and any other pertinent information. I would need your real name and your GameSpot username as well. My email is: kevinv@gamespot.com.

Once Jody Robinson and I are able to put together a plan, we will be in contact with respondents to put together the next steps. I look forward to joining forces with our best community members to make Game Night stronger than ever!

Left 4 Dead is an absolute blast, not that it comes as a surprise to fans. Kevin and a healthy group of GameSpotters took on the zombie apocalypse as only GameSpotters can: with hunting rifles and expletives. Our thanks to everyone who showed up, and may you live long enough to make it to the escape helicopter.

    I wish they would have a company of heroes game night I love that game. I know they are not going to have 1 because the game is old and not 2 many people play it.

    burstlimit, there are definitely more PS3 nights coming; Resistance 2 and Motorstorm: PR are both slated before the end of the year. Also bear in mind that we do a lot of different games, some big, some smaller. And indeed, we have done many, many PS3 game nights: Resistance, Warhawk, MotorStorm, COD 4, GTA 4 (twice), Metal Gear Online, and many others.

    thats dissapointing. They think that doing a gamenight for ps3 owners would be good but they choose Socom. They just ignored their review.

    Semperfi: Yeah the BF2142 tournament they had a while back was fun. The problem is where do you slip an older, albeit great, game like that in with everything else that is coming out. GS has put together a great lineup and there are still games missing. They could easilly have Far Cry 2, a Guitar Hero World Tour Band Night (once the bugs get worked out), a WoW Lich King Night...even a Little Big Planet share your level night.

    Like AM/PM....too much good stuff

    omrikk87, GTA4 will not be having another game night this year. We have Resistance2, Gears2, Red Alert3, and many other new, hihg-profile games to play before we bid farewell to the awesomeness that is 2008.

    Kevin, Do you think that Gtaiv will have (another i guess) gamenight? it has great modes and alot of people can play within the party,plus i love your work in gs youre doing a superb job!!

    Guys, you really should check the Steam Community Link that was given as it tells you what is coming up through 1/6/09. But, for the sake of just posting it here, here is what is listed as the upcoming Game Nights, in this order: Socom: Confrontation, C&C; Red Alert 3, Resistance 2, Gears 2, CoD: World at War, Left 4 Dead, End War, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, 2 weeks off for X-mas and New Years, and then Quantum of Solace at the start of January.

    That is one strong lineup, even if I usually get home to late to participate. But, I do agree that a Far Cry 2 night would appear to be in order.

    GreyHawx, it is because there will likely be few people in the office able to help and a smaller user crowd; it makes sense to hold game night on the platform for which there will likely be the most people available to play. Trust me, every platform is getting its due
