AFLPA past player golf day a great success

Over 85 past VFL / AFL players and guests enjoyed a great day of golf at the AFLPA's first ever Past Player Member Golf Day.
Held at Melbourne's Sandhurst Golf Club, attendees enjoyed a full round of 18 holes, and most importantly enjoyed each others company in what was the first of a number of past player initiatives to be announced by the AFLPA, such as AFLPA 'HealthKick'.
The day also served to recognise the contributions made by past players to our game and assist in the establishment of social and business networks of former players through their association with the AFLPA.
The day's winning team consisting of Matthew Rogers (Bridgestone Golf), Rohin Rosman (Bridgestone Golf), Nathan Bower (Fmr Richmond & AFL SportsReady) & Ken Fletcher (Fmr Essendon) shot a scorching 57 to win the days team competition.
Coming in second in the teams competition, shooting a very competitive 58.75 was a team made up of David O'Hanlan (Medibank Private) and former St Kilda players Sam Cranage & Brett Moyle.
Close behind in third place was the team made up of Michael Milne (Fmr St Kilda), Grant Demanniel,
Sam Abou-eid & Chris Dwyer (all Fmr Swans) with a great score of 58.87.
In other competitions, the worst round of the day went to former Tigers and Swans player Nick Daffy, worst golf bag was 'won' Tim Gordon (Australia Post), while worst outfit went to former Swan Sam Abou-eid.
Best putter of the day went to another former Swan 'Torch' McGee, followed by former Saint and Crow James Begley.
