“Sir, yes Sir!” answers proA.NextTime

Right after ESVN had posted a funny picture in which the leader of proArmy StarCraft team, Luu Vu Ha Trung—proA.SirTY, asked “Are you ready?”, his member, proaA.NextTime articulately answered “Sir, yes Sir!” with his first place in the WCG Vietnam StarCraft Final of Hanoi.

Asked Sirty, answered Nexttime

The two gamers who competed in the last set of matches, one of whom was a “veteran,” (proA.SirTY) the other was a “rookie,” (proA.NextTime) were both from proA, and both used Terran.

Although Terran vs. Terran matchups are often regarded as “boring,” Terran vs. Terran matches between two “gosu” (Korean word for players with high skill) are not. And those matches were worthy to be the final. Both players demonstrated outstanding micro/macro skills. However, there could only be one winner; and after three intense matches, proA.NextTime, the currently best-ranked player, the winner of two consecutive ESL Tournaments proved to have the upper-hand. And let us all share the joy of a champion by the following interview.

How do you feel right now when once again you have defeated your leader, proA.SirTY, in such an important event?
All I can say is “Wonderful!” I have surpassed the one who one year ago, beating him even though in just one game could only be in my imagination. People said “The player who has potential can only do his best in the right environment;” I couldn’t agree more. From the time I entered proA, the leader as well as other members has been helping me a lot. Even though I have deafeted my own team mates, I feel that if I hadn’t got into proA, my place right now would have belonged to someone else. I’d like to dedicate this victory to all of them. Thank you proA, my friends; thank you SirTY, my leader.

“The lucky gamer who just only shows up at the right time,” what do you think of that nick name that many people gave you?
I don’t care much about what people say about me. “Showing up at the right time?” then maybe my idol, Boxer, has just been being lucky. If it had not been Boxer but another person, maybe we would never call him “The Legendary Boxer.” I think they might be right at some points too. [laugh]

proA.Nexttime - the champion of WCG 2008 - Hanoi

In your next trip to the South, which player do you feel the most hard to face?
He is Q9)AutumnWind. Although Zerg vs. Terran has never been his favourite, he always has an “irritating” way of playing. I think AutumnWind is a very strong opponent for anyone who’s aiming for the championship.

Which means your goal is to be the best StarCraft player of Vietnam in this event?
Certainly, I think every serious player aims for this too.

Have your parents known about this yet?
Of course, I phoned my parents right after I had won.

From left to right: proA.Nexttime - i don't know :P - proA.SirTY - Dream.SCVN

So they must be proud of their son. Before the final, did you have any support from your parents or family members?
Sure. They’re really proud. I can feel the happiness of my mother through her voice on the phone. However, before that, I didn’t get any cheers. My parents just told me “Lose quick to go to class, will you?” What an ironic. [laugh]

Thank you for your interview. We hope in the national final, you will keep dedicating great matches for the audience. We wish you well and successful. Thank you.

Two day with great moments of intensity, surprise, and happiness have passed by. And the WCG Vietnam 2008, StarCraft Final of Hanoi has successfully ended, leaving the audience with a pleasant experience that they could not easily forget. The WCG is without doubt the most important event for every seriously players of eSport.

Well, finally, 3 gamers who will fly to Ho Chi Minh City soon to attend the national final are: proA.Nexttime (1st), proA.SirTY (2nd), Dream.SCVN (3rd).

If nothing's wrong, I'll fly with them to Ho Chi Minh so stay stun for my update about WCG Vietnam 2008 in StarCraft: Broodwar section.

Thanks for your reading

Well there is ZergBong the korean progamer....although Bong in this gamer's ID is supposed to be associated with his family name rather than what you think it is per commentator Tasteless. proAJune91, which game is more popular in Vietnam, WC or SC?

I'm assuming computers are considered expensive in Vietnam and people are more likely to go to Cyber cafes. Are both games available at those venues? I'm just curious because Philippines, it seems no longer has SC Gamers going into WCG.

no....the computers in vietnam are not very expensive ;) but why do the people keep going to cyber cafe? because of its environment ;). we can meet many interesting gamers in here to compete so they go to cyber cafe although the quality of the computers there are not goood :)

computers in US are cheap, but cyber cafes are expensive. cafes in California was renting out PCs for $10/hr vs an internet connection at home for as little as $10/month.
