The group dance is a Broadway piece choreographed by Tyce DiOrio. I probably enjoyed this more than I usually enjoy Broadway numbers. I really don’t know what my problem is with this style; it just doesn’t do it for me. The only Broadway piece I remember from any year of this show is the one Sabra danced last year. I can’t even remember who her partner was, but Sabra brought something wonderful to it and that performance has stayed with me. And as a bonus we see just how nasty Tyce can get when subjected to one bad audition after another. Ouch.And who is in our bottom three? For like a millisecond I thought SYTYCD was taking a break this week. I think they did it last year and with Independence Day just around the corner, I thought that might be the case this week. Aren’t you glad this is on my season pass? Well, I don’t have TiVo but it’s on the equivalent of my season pass. And I’m also glad each pair got to dance two styles tonight. And then there were 14. This week, Chris and Chelsea were the latest to have the beat stop on So You Think You Can Dance. Despite their disappointment, both took the news gracefully. Friday morning, each dancer spoke to press about getting cut, lessons learned and what's next. I think the judges are sending the right people home. But before we get to that, I’ll start at the beginning of the show.At first glance Cat’s dress tonight is even better than the one last night. But the more I look at it the less I enjoy it. The ruffle thing going on at the neckline just isn’t that flattering. I like everything from the waist down and the neck up. I hope her stylists don’t do that to Cat again.I really like the group dance. Some of you probably pick it out as a Mia Michaels original immediately but I thought it was actually a Wade Robson piece. You know how much he likes all those jerky movements and he is the only one (before tonight) to put a scream in his choreography. But I’m not disappointed Mia choreographed it. It’s strange and weird and cool just like her.Are my eyes playing tricks on me or did we see Nigel wearing leather tonight? I’m not sure we’ve ever seen that before. Q: Please let Teddy know that although Mary Murphy's voice can get annoying at times, she knows more about ballroom dancing than anyone else on the So You Think You Can Dance panel. She also provides constructive criticism that actually helps the dancers improve ? unlike any of the judges on American Idol.
