Walking Out With You
a becket formation contra by David Kirchner

A1
Ladies chain across (8)
Half hey for four, starting ladies right shoulder (8)

A2
Balance and swing neighbor; end swing facing out (back to partner) (16)

B1
Long lines forward and back (out, then in) (8)
Allemande left new neighbor 1-1/2 (on other side of you in long lines) (8)

B2
Gents allemande right four steps, stomping on fourth step (4)
Same gents allemande left to partner (4)
Swing partner (8)

Notes: Note that those at the ends must stand out "indecent", i.e. with lady on left and gent on right. Works particularly well with a tune that features strong two-bar phrases in the B part, since dancers will stomp on the fourth beat of both the B1 and B2. An unplanned peculiarity of this dance is that you have a trail buddy in the neighboring contra line, whom you see each time during the forward and back.

The title is a double entendre referring both to the move in the B1 and to "walking out" with my then-fiancee, Caroline, into a new future.

Variation by Melanie Axel-Lute:
(most probably an improvement)

A1 & A2

B1
Long lines forward and back (out, then in) (8)
Allemande right new neighbor once (on other side of you in long lines) (6?)

B2

Swing partner (10?)
