Oct 08: When wine is asked to load .hive file through registry calls RegLoadkey() it returned error saying "not registry file". Is there any way accesing hive files through registry calls in present version or older version of wine?

this was raised in the list recently - apparently not. Wine cant read a native windows hive file. However It can read the 'fake' wine text based registry. To import a hive file, you might be able to import it under windows, and export a reg file. If importing a hive file needs implementing because a program depends upon it - then you might discuss how you might do this on the developers list. jb
