Now that the media maelstrom has calmed some, Miley Cyrus is opening up about her hotly debated spring photo shoot for Vanity Fair, which featured the 15-year-old in a more adult light than she'd previously been seen. No matter how ridiculous the firestorm might've been, it still had some impact.In a new interview with Billboard, Cyrus responds to the so-called controversy. "I was embarrassed," she says, adding, "But also it's like, every career thing that I do can't be perfect, and sometimes my decisions are wrong. I think that just makes me even more relatable." Cyrus admits "It still hurts," but insists she's ready to move on. She of course already has multiple, simultaneous projects to keep her moving, including her new album, Breakout, which drops July 22. Hannah Montana Movie Arrives on TV — and in 3-D | Today's News: Our Take | 6/16/2008
For families with Miley Cyrus fans, don't plan on seeing the light of day Saturday, July 26. That evening, at 8 pm/ET, Disney Channel plans to broadcast Cyrus' blockbuster, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert — in 3-D. It gets better. Disney will amp up audiences with an afternoon Hannah Montana marathon, starting at 2 pm and segueing right into movie. To get the most out of the experience, prospective viewers can find a pair of 3-D glasses in the July 21 issue of TV Guide. Kicking off the extravangza, a new Hannah eppy will air July 20, followed by a week of rock-related evening programming.Giving Miley's movie to the masses seems like an equitable mode of distribution following the sell-out shows during the its limited run last winter. Miley Cyrus Movie Suffers Freak Ferris Wheel Accident | Movie News | 6/4/2008
There was peril Tuesday on the Hannah Montana movie set when high winds knocked lighting equipment into a Ferris wheel. Equipment went flying, TMZ says, and four extras were injured in the incident. Miley Cyrus herself had just wrapped a scene adjacent to the Ferris wheel when the winds swept the Tennessee grounds. Disney subsequently issued a statement assuring everyone that all is safe again on set, and that the star was not injured: "During a break in the filming of Hannah Montana: The Movie, a minor accident occurred involving a piece of production equipment," the studio said. "Fortunately, there were only a few minor injuries.... None of the cast was on the set. Filming has resumed."And just like that, all was well again in the Cyrus world. Hannah's Out, Miley's in for First "Solo" Album | Today's News: Our Take | 5/21/2008
Finally, some good, old-fashioned, career-related news about Miley Cyrus: This summer, Cyrus fans will have yet another album of hers to eat up — minus Hannah Montana. Cyrus' previous two albums involved Montana, Cyrus' TV alter ego, tying the music directly to her hit Disney show.On July 22, however, the 15-year-old will release her first full-length entirely under her own name, and she even has a cowriting credit, too, says the AP, on the album's first single, "7 Things."
