#7 Samus Aran (Metroid)

The Empire Strikes Back taught us many things, chief among them that bounty hunters are a very unattractive lot of robots and monsters. With that said, Nintendo's Samus Aran is a refreshing change of pace, a tough, no nonsense warrior that isn't afraid to remove her famous orange and yellow power suit and let her hair down, especially to reveal her skin tight clothing.

The problem with having all these deliberately buxom, oversexualized female characters is that there are no positive female role models in gaming to balance them out. All female characters everywhere seem to be submissive, stereotypically feminine, and large-breasted.

i think that some people allow the fantasy game world and reality to collide. it just proves what people think the ideal girl should portray. with men and their high expectations, most of them will grow up alone, crusty, and dried OUT

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls - ITS NOT REAL! ITS A FANTASY! STOP READING INTO IT! Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft is a miscast. She isnt all that.

It's not a bad thing if some female game characters are sexy, but they shouldn't -all- have huge chests and super-skinny waists, or be dressed like skanks. Having some characters in sexy outfits with hot bodies are fine, but when 90% of female game characters are designed that way, it gets really annoying, really fast. And honestly, it gets boring to look at. How about some variety? It's refreshing to see female game characters who look different. What ever happened to Mitsuko from the first Bloody Roar? She wasn't hot, but she was still a great character. Just because she had big arms and overalls doesn't mean she deserved to get scrapped- she actually looked like a fighter instead of a stripper.

First off, let me say that I am a female gamer. And I'm not really sure what the big deal is here. Yeah, game designers and creators are making the females look hot and sexy but if you think about it, sex sells. If the girls in the game were ugly, fat, flat chested and things of that nature, you wouldn't get as many people (if any) to play the game. It's nothing to say against girls of that nature, I'm just saying that when you play a video game you want to leave the real life, and enter the imaginary life. If parents don't like the idea of their kids playing these kind of games, there are a few options. A- Read the maturity level!! B- HAVE YOUR KIDS DO SOMETHING BETTER FOR THEIR MINDS! Like read a book (gasp!) I know, its chaos! Or study, so they can get good grades and do well in school. Now, I'm not trying to say that gamers are dumb or worthless or anything, but seriously? The girls in games are not that bad, they are not "skanks, or hos or etc." and if parents don't like it then don't buy the game, don't rent the game, don't play the game. And don't ruin it for the rest of us gamers who enjoy it.

i luvvv lara croft...she is sooo hot. imagine if she was round and ugly...then nobody would wanna buy the game. women need to stop mopin around and feelin sorry for themselves ...if u feel ur so fat and unattractive then stop hating on the game character and do sumthin about it...ugh...ppl need to get over themselves. sex sells and ppl are going to make the game character portray what they feel is sexy. ugh... us women sometimes are just soooo....idk
