Sybase replication technology enables organizations to replicate information in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, and DB2 UDB (OS/390, NT, and Unix) data sources in near real time to place that information where it can be most effectively used. The replication process is transparent and asynchronous to the applications changing the source data.
Replication Agent for DB2 works with mainframe IBM DB2 databases to effectively distribute DB2 data throughout heterogeneous computing environments. Transactional changes are read from the DB2 UDB for OS/390 Logs, resulting in non-intrusive capture and delivery mechanism (no change to existing applications or data structures) along with extremely low latency times.
To replicate data from other databases, see Replication Server.
BENEFITS
- Ensures high system performance.
- Protects transactional integrity of the data.
- Delivers data reliably to all locations.
- Guarantees transaction recovery.
- Brings the data to your desktop.
- Administers your system easily.
