Panel/distribution boards
ABB distribution and panel boards can be assembled at the ABB Leigh-on-Sea feeder factory to customer specifications, also including specially designed enclosure solutions which complement ABB standard products. Our service also includes fitting out with breakers/metering etc as well as customer specific wiring where required.
Distribution Boards
Special IP54 distribution boards
This is a special and unique design from ABB. Based on a standard ABB distribution board, the design features environment ingress protection to IP54.
IP54 Distribution boards will be available in 4,6,8,12,16,20 and 24 ways.
Panel Boards
Delta Meter special extension box
This enclosure incorporates the ABB Delta energy meter, further enhancing the ABB distribution and panel board range. Benefits to the end user include aprewired Delta meter with intergrated current transformers, all housed in an enclosure which follows the design principals of the established extension box range.
Enclosed ACB assemblies
Enclosed MCCB and ACB breakers from 800A to 3200A utilising the ArTu enclosure system. Assembly, copper bus-bars and additional support metalwork is provided by ABB's Leigh-on-Sea factory.
Rail Assemblies
ABB can produce rail assemblies utilising ABB Entrelec terminals, fuse holders, relays etc - just about any thing that is rail mountable. Applications are varied from prestigious railway stock, to small rail assemblies for control panels. ABB also assembles the Interfast range of PLC wiring plugs and harnesses.
A small selection of example assemblies are shown below:
Interfast
Interfact offers efficient, simple pre-wiring for PLCs.
Prewired cable interface system connects virtually any PLC to interface boards. Replaces point-to-point discrete wiring with prewired and tested connectors and cables.
The Interfast system reduces wiring time, prevents wiring errors, and lowers costs.
Custom Enclosed Breakers
ABB can offer enhanced breaker enclosure designs for its T1, T3 and S5 breakers plus a new enclosure for an engine control module mounted on a support frame. The whole assembly can be mounted on generator sets.
ABB has designed and manufactured a further range of enclosures for generator applications. There are five enclosure sizes available for housing Tmax T1, T3 and ISOmax S5, S6 and S7 breakers. (Pictured below)
Custom Enclosures
This is a specially designed IP65 enclosure, manufactured throughout in brushed stainless steel. The top lids are powder coated to customer colour specifications.
ABB components are used throughout, ranging from shrouded emergency pushbuttons to 63 amp 6 pole switch disconnects. A special ABB handle interlock was incorporated into this design.
Special projects
This project started as a customer specific requirement, without which the sale of the associated ABB OS switches would not have been possible.
The requirement was for a unique yellow cover and new Handle. The design was carried out using the ABB LOS design facility and a "Rapid prototype" produced within days of the original customer enquiry. Following acceptance of the design, the new cover went into immediate production.
A customer was seeking six pole switches for high volume contracts in both UK and Hong Kong. The ABB OT32E6 is acceptable but they insisted on a UK style rotary handle.
The MTE circular handle was modified to fit the OT and the contract was won.
Here a customer required an assembled pair of A26.30.01+VM5-1 interlock wired to a specified drawing.
This also required specially tooled "fast-on" terminals. ABB WAS able to get these produced to enable the order to be won.
This is an example of how ABB can provide the total solution for the customer.
Below are two examples where ABB haS designed enclosureS to specific customer specifications. ABB is also able to offer the build and wiring of the internal rail assembly.
Special designs carried out to customer specifications
This project involved a standard ABB enclosure with associated ABB components. The resulting specially designed product is used for automatic timed control of lighting in farm cow sheds.
