actually for your russian air force fans that mig missed the first shot that is how they spy plane knew where to look and it had to come in for a closer shot. pretty pathetic they cant hit a plane flying at 200 mph. they wouldnt have a chance against an f22. I hope the U.S. takes more aggressive actions to help Georgia. ie sending our own peace keeping force of 10k soldiers and build our own air base and tell russia not to be within 100 miles of it or their shitty migs will burn

There is a clear difference between Su-27 and MiG-29 - their tail fins.
MiG-29 has parallel tail fins.
Su-27 has sloping tail fins.
On the 39-40 sek of this footage you can what kind on the plane that was.
At first glance I saw Su-27 now I'm not sure.

Well past conflicts have shown Soviet and Russian pilots to be fairly skilled in the area of air to air gunnery, and whilst certainly Russian air force combat training has suffered since 1991 (although it is now improving) a drone with a fixed speed and path would be a very easy target to shoot down with a cannon. Its more likely that Russia wanted the video to demonstrate Russian air to air missile technology or that it was simply a good chance for some missile testing.
