Where are there public toilets with facilities for disabled people?
The National Key Scheme, run by RADAR, allows access to public toilets throughout the country.
Public toilets with facilities for disabled people are open Monday to Sunday (except public holidays) 8.00 am to 6.00 pm approximately.
The toilets in this area are situated at:
- Chelmsley Wood Town Centre (between the multi-storey car park and the shops)
- Mell Square, Solihull (entrance to Beatties car park by Post Office)
- Touchwood
A Radar Key is needed to open disabled toilets.
How to obtain a Radar Key
Radar keys are issued from Solihull Connect and cost £3. Keys are only issued to people who have a physical disability. You will need to prove you are in receipt of one or more of the following:
- blue car badge
- disabled bus pass
- a benefit issued for disability, e.g. incapacity benefit
- disabled living allowance
- attendance allowance
- severe disablement allowance
- a service such as home care, occupational therapy or day care.
If you have a condition which means that you may need a toilet quickly (rather than a physical disability) we will need a letter of confirmation from a GP before issuing a key.
