Road safety - dangerous roads

Information about road safety and how to report a dangerous road.

We have a continuing programme of schemes to improve the safety and operation of the highway network. Many of these schemes originate from requests made by the public. As well as concerns about the safety of individual road junctions, there are requests for pedestrian crossing facilities, speed reducing measures (such as road humps), and minor issues such as new warning signs.

If you would like to report a junction, which you feel is dangerous, or if you feel speed restriction measures need to be implemented on a certain road, please use the contact details below

West Midlands Casualty Reduction Partnership

The West Midlands Casualty Reduction Partnership manages the safety cameras (speed and red-light) within the West Midlands region and members of the partnership include 7 Local authorities, Highways Agency, Magistrates Courts and West Midlands Police.

Each year thousands of people have to cope with loved ones being killed or seriously injured in road accidents. The partnership was set up to try and reduce this. Using safety cameras on roads where there have been a number fatal or serious accidents caused by speeding, can help reduce these accidents. While at the same time raise drivers' awareness of speed limits.

Don't ever think that collisions and injury are something that happen to other people - they can happen to us all. Remember that every day, in the West Midlands alone, more than 3 people die or are seriously injured. If we all take more care on the roads, we can save lives.
