Local land charges - personal search

A personal search is a check of the Local Land Charges Register.

Anyone can search the register, after paying the £11 fee. However, the Personal Search does not provide as much information as on the official search.

To view the Local Land Charges Register you must make an appointment. To make an appointment please ring 0121 704 6013/6150. Our opening times, for viewing the register are:

At your allocated appointment time, please go to Orchard House Reception, Council House, in Solihull Town Centre. The fee £11.00 will need to be made on arrival by cash or cheque prior to viewing the land charges register.

We can help you with the search if needed, although you need to identify the land/property yourself and make any notes.

We do not have an obligation to answer any questions when you are making a Personal Search. If you need more detailed information, you need to request an official search.
