  • Community and day centres
Adult Social Services has a number of day centres for people with disabilities and for elderly people. These pages provide information about the day care services provided for elderly people, people with disabilities, mental, learning and physical.
  • Direct payments
You can now choose whether to have services provided directly by Social Services, or to have Direct Payments.
  • Keeping warm in winter service
More people get ill in winter and the number of deaths rises. There is a direct link between cold weather and the higher death rate, especially amongst older people and others in at-risk groups.
  • Mobile meals - meals on wheels
Frozen meals are available to people who are housebound, cannot prepare a substantial meal each day, and have no one else who can do this for them.
