The BBC earlier this week launched its catch-up internet TV service, iPlayer, for Wii. But not happy with being left out, PS3-loving coding ninjas have created their own version of the iPlayer for PS3.

Using magic and fairy dust, we assume, one clever bloke has re-worked the Wii-compatible part of BBC's iPlayer for use on the PS3, under a new URL.
"It's mainly a demonstration of how easily the BBC could support the PS3 with their Wii version," the creator says.
"This does nothing more than mask your PS3's user-agent string and makes half a dozen changes to make the JavaScript and CSS function correctly on the PS3," apparently.
And this 'agent string masking' trickery only took a day to cobble together - done as proof of how easily the BBC could do it officially for PS3.
