Matt Stevens is a management consultant and founder of Stevens Construction Institute Inc. In practice since 1994, Matt is the author of McGraw Hill's new book Managing a Construction Firm on Just 24 Hours a Day and the forthcoming The New Business Model of Construction Contracting, to be released in December 2007. His next Business Management Boot Camp for Construction is scheduled for October 15-19, 2007 in Philadelphia.

He is a 30-plus-year veteran of the industry having worked as a specialty contractor and a general contractor. Formerly, Matt worked with FMI Corporation of Raleigh, NC from 1997 to 2002. They are our country’s largest management consulting firm for the construction industry

Matt earned his B.S. of Construction Management from University of Louisiana - Monroe and an M.B.A. from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida. He is a member of Sigma Lambda Chi - the national construction honor society.

Matt has performed seminars and training sessions for dozens of associations and private companies ranging from one day seminars to weekend retreats as well as weeklong boot camps. He is certified on several subjects ranging from people skills to construction business processes.

Matt has written technical and business process manuals for firms seeking to document construction methods. He assists companies in keeping processes efficient, implemented and monitorable.

He has analyzed many contracting firms as a management consultant and assisted owners in improving their firms with business and process improvement initiatives, some lasting as long as 18 months.

Matt has delivered expert witness testimony inside and outside of court for clients. His area of testimony focuses on construction business operations for a company and a project.
