It's a whole new ballgame! Major League Baseball 2K7 redefines the pure baseball video game experience with true, Next-Gen details, all-new throwing mechanics and a revolutionary presentation system. The MLB2K series returns this year with its best incarnation yet. It may not deliver the most accurate stats or rosters such as MLB 07, but it delivers far better presentation quality, control, and realistic player animations.

The good news is that the online options and solid franchise mode will keep you coming back for more, if you can stand more of JD Drew, rated at 100. Seriously, the guy can barely finish an inning without ending up on the injury report. Is this really happening?

MLB 2K7 is a decent game, but it's painfully obvious how little effort the developer put into improving this year's game over last year's.

Xbox owners get the mediocre 2K6 with new rosters, but nothing else new. [Apr 2007, p.86]

Alec S. gave it an8:
This baseball simulation is not only an example of huge improvements in the way we play and think about baseball games, but its the biggest imrpovement from one year to the next in a video game I've ever encountered. This baseball game is exciting and the gameplay is actually preserved along with graphics as we saw a lack of in the new madden games. MLB 2K7 is an amazing baseball simulation, perhaps the best I've ever played since all star baseball 2001 for the Nintendo 64. This game has little room for improvement besides a rare glitch in fielding from time to time, as the ball rolls past the fielder and the fact that robbing a home run is entirely too easy to do, and the percentage of acheiving it successfully is also too high. If the makers can fix these small problems that currently exist, for me this game is a 10, and the best baseball game to date. Who knows, from 2006 to 2007 is like night and day, maybe espn will surprise us next year with an even better one. Lets only hope its for the better, as again the madden changes from 2005 to the 360 version in 2006 were a little more than displeasing.
