Maria von Trapp loved tending to her flower gardens. The pure white snow drops, a sign of Spring in Vermont, reminded her of the delicate Edelweiss which grew freely in the mountains of her native Austria. One of her first garden projects was to design the rock garden-the oldest garden at the Lodge. From this one small flower garden came many others and as the Lodge grew in size and popularity, so did its gardens. We here at the Trapp Family Lodge invite you to come and enjoy the splendor of these gardens whose beauty has captivated our guests for decades.
