Great article! I also recommend buying some gold & silver (both physical & through exchange traded funds), since inflation is killing the value of your savings everyday. Your emergency funds could be wiped out just by inflation. If you're interested in learning more, check out www.surviverecession.com ...

It's amazing what people still fall for. I had a friend of mine last year that received an email from her bank. Or so she thought. She responded with the information they requested and her bank account was wiped out. The really sad part is they make it look so official, or at least some of them do. Her email even had the Bank of America logo on it as if she actually received it from them. I get emails all the time about someone from overseas wanting me to receive and hold $1.5 million for them, what a joke. I just delete them all. What you've said here should be on a billboard somewhere for all to see. Your bank, the IRS or any other legitimate agency is not going to ask for this information. They already have it, why would they need it again? Great info!

In my last comment I wrote that inflections can come across wrong on emails and text messages. I have been on both sides of this fiasco; however, I don't think it is true of all. I do agree with Rebecca that sarcastic comments come across loud and clear. I just think when you are emailing you must be a little more careful of how something is worded that you would be in a person to person conversation. It's all in the perception of the reader, and if they are in a bad mood, your email could settle the wrong way with them, so be careful. I try to stay very professional and even read some out loud before sending just to double check. As far as replies to emails, I try to answer my emails within one days time. If I cannot answer them completely, I will at least try to email them quickly to let them know I did receive their question and will be getting back with them soon. I think the little things like that can make a huge difference in how your customer/client views you. Although they know you have more than one client, they need to know you are taking their questions seriously.

Of course, everything must be taken with a grain of salt. But, honestly, we don't have a lot to go on beyond what candidates tell us, and what they did in the past. In terms of economic plans, I like what Obama and Clinton offer best. The trick, of course, is making it work in a real-world situation where partisan bickering comes in (don't get me started on the issues I have with our two-party system). The other trick is getting regular, every day citizens energized enough to voice their opinions and hold politicians responsible for their promises. Too many of us sit back and insist that nothing can be done. They do nothing, and then nothing is, in fact, done.
