Ah, 2 gun enthusiasts I see. :)

Witzbold on Feb 11, 2008

Thats cool, yeah Ive fired a glock before put about 100 rounds worth of 9mm through it down at a gun store back home in the states. Interesting gun, was suprised how much easier it is to handle than a beretta. Never was much of a fan of the beretta anyways haha. Thats good to hear though that the PS90 is selling well though, was a bit curious about how that one would do. Since kinda kills the point of the gun to have that elongated barrel on it granted its to comply with US gun laws and all that. Im sure some "custom" work can fix that right up though. Its nice being able to talk "shop" with someone else on a similar website, since I really dont have time to be visiting / hanging out on other gun forums although I visit the FAL files and the AK forums sometimes when Im looking for information. Like thanks to the AK forums I made contact with a dealer in the US who sells excellent parts for an AK I got a Cobra red dot sight from him great stuff that is. If you got an AK you might want to consider one too. If you want more info on that tantal guy just ask and Ill be happy to send it over.

Thats too bad about walther since the grip and the weight felt just right. Its got a damned comfortable grip, one of the most comfortable that Ive held in a while. But yeah from what you tell me and what Ive read I dont think it would be worth the money. Damned shame that is. :( Figured the ammo for the fiveseven would be expensive since its such speciality ammo. Btw in the US hows the sales of the PS90 doing? Man you know its a good thing I dont live in the US anymore, if so Id hate to see how much more broke Id be lol. Ill check up on that pistol you talked about in the last message! Oh yeah that webpage with the glock abuse test was impressive, its like the AK of pistols eh? Ive heard how durable glocks were but I never knew that they were that durable. Perhaps thats why its one of the more standard sidearms of the private contractors since they go to so man y different types of locations in the world. Interesting stuff!

I basically like the fiveseven due to the design, plus the 5.7 x 28mm rounds it uses. Also the fact it has a low recoil is even better for a pistol, where you really need to make ever shot count. From what I understand from what Ive read on the gun it sounds like a perfect solution for an urban environment. I also like the P99 also but Ive heard that there is a problem with the slide cracking at times which worries me.

btw figured it be better to chat about the "hobby" more in here, since I already have enough folks wondering who I am and what I do for a living anyways as is lol.

No kidding you used to sell too eh? Thats cool man. Yeah I usually read a lot on the internet also, but Im a bit of a historian too which is why I like learning of the history of the various firearms and such. Although yeah we dont have many english gun mags in Japan. I do miss reading soldier of fortune since that was always amusing stuff lol, and guns and ammo. Over all though I have a pretty good idea of what Im going to stock up on once I get back home to the states, or any other country that allows proper firearms. Im interested in trying out the FiveseveN though. Brilliant pistol, love the design and mechanics. All I need to do now is get my hands on one and run a few rounds through it and see if I like the feel. But from what I understand by folks who have fired / own one they say its brilliant. Though I need to check up on how much ammo costs are for that thing.

Witzbold on Feb 10, 2008

Your knowledge about firearms is far higher than mine which is good to know. Just decided to throw out more info to make sure that everything was sound. ;D Since you know how the internet is with folks when they speak of guns. Glad to see that there is another enthusiast here though. Question do you know of any good books on the history / materials with modern firearms? Ive still got a lot to learn, finished reading "Future Weapons - Kevin Dockery" and was looking for another book to further compliment the newly gained knowledge, asides from what I already know from personal experience. If you have any books suggestions from someone who knows their stuff like you would be appreciated. :)
