NEWS: Updates on The Mine, Dean Karr, Catherine Finkenstaedt

Director Dean Karr's production company The Mine — founded in 2000 — has effectively closed, according to numerous source. Karr is responsible for many hit videos, including the groundbreaking clips  Marilyn Manson "Sweet Dreams" and Dave Matthews Band "Crash Into Me", in addition to more recent work for Seether, Damian Marley and Nickel Creek.

Karr and his longtime producing partner Arthur Gorson are now running his jobs through KARMA, which is headed up by their another ex-Miner, Yamani Watkins.

Catherine Finkenstaedt, the former executive producer at The Mine, has landed at commercial house Go Film where she is in the process of assembling an alternative media department which will focus on internet content, short films and music videos.

NEW RELEASE: Nickel Creek "When In Rome"

NickelcreekNickel Creek "When In Rome"  Sugar Hill
Dean Karr, director
Arthur Gorson, producer
The Mine, production co
Clark Eddy, editor
Description: Nickel Creek may be considered a country/bluegrass trio, but their potential appeal is much broader than those narrow confines. They have an uncanny ear for pop hooks that don't pander and their overall vibe has more in common with Guster than The Dixie Chicks. This video is about as adventurous as you'll see from a "country" act. Director Dean Karr captures gorgeous b&w footage of the band on a puddle strewn pavement under an overpass. Similarly amazing portraiture footage that illustrates the song's subjects is interspersed with the performance. Some of these portraits may cause discomfort, including one of an old man with a dove perched on his shoulder and another of a young, wounded war veteran.

Description: CSI actor Paul Guilfoyle plays a killer whose past catches up to him in a haunted hotel. As soon as he pulls into a literal ghost town, he begins to be tormented by the souls of what we assume to be his victims. The creepy story is mixed with highly stylized, yet gritty performance by Alter Bridge.
