Episode Recap: March 9, 2008

Episode Recap by kristaadam
I haven't been watching the feeds or reading much on the "spoiler" sites, but I gather it hasn't been an interesting few days. I mean there has to be some reason we spent the first 10 minutes of the show rehashing everything that happened Wednesday. As much as I loved watching Allison scream for a second chance and how that made Josh squirm, I wanted new content.... read full recap

I haven't been watching the feeds or reading much on the "spoiler" sites, but I gather it hasn't been an interesting few days. I mean there has to be some reason we spent the first 10 minutes of the show rehashing everything that happened Wednesday. As much as I loved watching Allison scream for a second chance and how that made Josh squirm, I wanted new content. Especially when they showed most of it in the previews of the show! Now that the couples were singles, things were changing in the house. Matt hated on Natalie, Sheila and Adam declared war, and Chelsia acted flighty. Oh wait, nothing has changed. It may take an eviction cycle for these people to start turning on one another. I can't wait. Josh prayed about his wicked ways and I cracked up. But more importantly, he prayed for a sleeker physique. Oh Lord if you can hear me please ignore that prayer. I mean he has no intention of giving 10% of the prize money to charity. What a worm.Back to flighty Chelsia, she jumped ship on... read more

Well the "secret" is out, and even though we've all seen it coming for weeks, the couples of Big Brother are now playing alone. And (again as expected) a formerly evicted houseguest will return to the house next week. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Matt, fresh off the block after winning the Power of Veto, continued his scheming, promising his vote to both couples on the block. But when both Ryan and Allison and Adam and Sheila told James that they had Matt and Natlie's vote secured, Matt's plan backfired. I have to say that James is probably the only player who's really playing the game right now, and he continued doing so by calling out Matt for playing both sides in front of the entire house. This could hurt Matt's game in the long term, as perhaps a few of the people who were so eager to trust him will now think twice. I honestly didn't pay much attention to the segment featuring Matt and Natalie's friends commenting on their relationship. Natalie's friends bought into... read more

More fights? Cryptic mystery sounds? A possible showmance? This episode had all of the elements of a great Big Brother episode (except for fainting, of course). Sadly, each of these glimmers didn't shine long, but maybe there is some hope for the rest of the season. Only time will tell. First things first, let's take a moment to congratulate Natalie and Matt for winning the Power of Veto and removing themselves from the block. They really worked well as a team, which was vital to this Cupid-inspired competition. Through simple communication (that's right Allison — shrieking doesn't help), they were able to coordinate their pulley system and organize the puzzle fast enough to earn their safety this week. The competition was another poor showing for Sheila and Adam. I honestly laughed when I saw how horribly wrong her puzzle was. The loss spawned another yelling match between Sheila and Adam (who's goofy grin is beginning to remind me of Harry from Harry and the Hendersons), but... read more

I must admit, I wanted the lesbian lie to come back and bite Allison and Sheila in the butt. But I didn't want it to be used as a reason for Josh to go off on one of his tirades. And I didn't want Sheila to avoid the shrapnel. But let's back track a bit. Things started going wrong for Allison when she decided to change her vote for eviction from Matt and Natalie to Amanda and Alex. For some odd reason, Josh felt Allison was not entitled to change her mind or play the game in a way that didn't benefit him. Afraid of being the lone vote against Matt and Natalie, Josh convinced Sharon to vote with the majority. Now we know why Sharon and Josh were so quick to eliminate Allison and Ryan from the HOH competition. The next thing Allison did wrong was having the audacity to mention she buzzed in at about the same time as Sharon. This sent Josh into a tailspin for no apparent reason. After going on and on about her ugly dress and face, he threatened to make her life a living hell in the... read more

It looks like the new Operation Bro-Down fell prey to the Condor as Alex and Amanda got the boot instead of "pawns" Matt and Natalie. I guess convulsing in front of your roommates won't persuade them to vote for you. Wasn't that awful? For the first time in the history of watching this show, I felt like I was intruding on something very personal and scary. I was hoping that incident would get her enough sympathy to secure another week for Hot Alex. Sigh. Six down — who will go next? But first… It was eviction night, so we were treated to Dame Julie Chen live and in color. The DJC looked fabu this evening. Fresh from an afternoon of horseback riding with Lord CBS, she was rockin' some fierce riding boots and a sweater that just said "We feed our horses $100 bills".DJC had some tough questions for James during the HOH interview. She called him out on his promise not to nominate Matt and Natalie for eviction. I like when she appears to actually watch the show. I know some... read more
